Any body play this successfully? Look at using in a 700 pt game
What is the best strategy?
Thanks
The winning strategy!!!
but seriously...heheh.. Is this in modern or golden age?
ill assume modern, but if golden age, Fortitude... is right out! he has the duo fist, so keep in mind that he can't use that.
What the Thunderer brings- M&A: Transporter, Charge, & RS.
Offense: , an opening 5 damage (9 possible), lots of 4's (7's), and too many 3;s (5 possible), SS (11 opening damage possible, instant kill if on 1), quake, modified BCF, Drag and Force Blast SP's.
Defense- OUTWITTABLE ALL. but 3 clicks opening of 18 with Imp and Def, Mid dial regen could be a blessing or curse...end dial toughness in a game this size is a huge pain in your own rear, but the closing super senses may help you get healed if you pack it.
Support: ... Enhancement. Wow. a team player for sure, but with 200 points, you really have to pick and choose your figures.
Themed: (yes there is no theme team bonus, but some people prefer to play that way) Asgardian as there are too few low enough point Dieties, and only 1 Vehicle... (seriously topps? this is your parting gift?). I'd love to say field the SR Loki, but too many points. Sooooo...
If you want all your Eggs in 2 baskets, Hela seems to be the most worthy to aid the power Thor. Outwit, PB, SS, Mystics and 10 range all opening. Plus, a last ditch possible effort to bring Thor back!!!!!
Kurse and 2 Common Valkyries would be one way to go due to the Exploit Weakness and Support.
Else, for other outwit, Fandral is the way to go. I'd Pair him up with Malekith for some TK to ensure the outwit you need.
Non-themed? I can't recommend Rip Hunter enough- PC and Avoiding some outwit? with Outwit? Toss in The Atom from blackest night starter, and you can toss in a Valkyrie for some healing and keep it exactly 700 points. You may consider hand ninja instead for free attacks after carry, but i'd go for the Valk. heal the healer!
But ow, i really can't see the only bearer of the Vehicle keyword taking on any other huge figure. I see him as having trouble with even decent 250 point levels + on the regular scale. god forbid Galactus, Fin Fang Foom, Phoenix, Dark Phoenix, Spectre, or Antimonitor comes crashing in. Starro, maybe. Mayyyyybeeeee. stupid healing starfish.
I miss? PC it. You hit? PC it. I hit? I can do better, PC anyways. You miss? I DIDN'T SEE SNAKE EYES, PC IT!
I played Thor's Mighty chariot once in a high points tournament w/ Fortitude, teamed with Vet Silver Surfer.
the first round I got "pwned"by a LAMP team.
second round, still stinging from my loss to the LAMP team, I mercilessly destroyed my opponent who played Lex/Braniac duo, Fire & Ice DUo,HoT Punisher and some other stuff.
I felt like a heel for beating the guy so badly.
I had the bye in the last round so I sat and brooded over my lack of sportsmanship.
Anyway, a good strategy is to put fortitude on the chariot and kick a.
Pack on the Jason Bloods. and have Etrigans handy to AE into. Night Nurse might be handy too just because of her relationship with Don, and her healing bit augmenting the chariot's D.
All that said, we had a game that was any 3 figures, no collosals/big figures... and the chariot fit in. Needless to say, there were at least 3 people running the things. The problem is that if they get rocked outright... i.e. my first move was a KC Supeman rush with a pair of heavies... it sorta starts to crumple fast. Just keep in mind if you're gonna run that thing that you not let things get in too close unless you've the immediate means to deal with them.
"A" is "A". And no matter what universe he's from, Luthor... is Luthor.
