I like them both about evenly though I don't hear any country flavor in the Mark Germino version.
I'll throw a vote for him so he doesn't get skunked.

He won't be skunked. I'm voting for him too. Both are great. You can really hear the pain in Germino's voice though, which is what makes this song.

Well, that's pretty close to the way I feel, too. But truth to tell, as unlikely as it is for me to vote against Emmylou, I actually give a slight edge to Mark Germino here.
