Skynyrd for me from their last great album before the tragedy. At least I got to see them live at Anaheim Stadium a few months before the crash.

I'm really torn on this one, but since I like both I will go with the original by Lynyrd Skynyrd. But I do like the Black Label Society cover a lot.

I totally agree, but I think he goes overboard.

I was actually going to suggest this as well, but something kept me from doing it. I think it may have been that I didn't want to vote against it. Zakk's arrangement sounds so different from Skynyrd and easily makes it his own. Versatile, indeed.

Egad, for me this probably stands as the best example of how hard it can be to just pick the song without consideration of the performer(s).

I like both versions --- one slightly more than the other. But how do I not consider the above fact cited by RE (whom I envy for having seen the original Skynyrd), which would flip the preferences?? Geez, Louise...
