How do you like that? I try to give myself a break from constantly having to update my blog (which for all I know none of you look at anyway) and now none of you are even bothering to post.

I voted for the original. The whole redneck bar sequence in "the Blues Brothers" is one of my favorite parts of that movie. But they only perform the song to avoid getting lynched so there is a sense, at least to me, that they are parodying the song.

Besides Frankie Lane just sings all those old western movie themes with such honesty and grit. I just love 'em.

I'm a fan of old westerns like Rawhide. I've got to go with the Frankie Lane original.

Well, I went with the Blues Brothers. One of the movies my mother would actually watch.

On some literal within-the-film level, perhaps. Listening to it though, it seems more of the loving tribute. They do real justice to it musically. Blues Brothers here.

Yup...though he did live to co-star in a movie opposite Zsa Zsa Gabor, whose role was, uh, like from outer space, man.

Blues Brothers. Even though the cover was a joke in the movie, the original doesn't connect with me that much.
