I am looking for more information on the new "CAPTURE" rules given in the map sets.
Is this rule limited to specific scenarios, or is it now a standard rule?
Can only "bystander" tokens be captured, or can anyone be captured?
I like the idea of capturing, but the present system seems a little to powerful for capturing heroes or villians. imagine someone like Bullseye capturing Vet Dr. Doom, Vet Ironman or anyone that costs mega points. The super expensive character is immediately rendered helpless. 198pts captured by 43! OUCH.
It seems that if heroes or villians can be captured, they should also be able to escape. Or, perhaps you can only capture opponets of less cost than your figure.
By The way, I would like to see High Tech Weapon Tokens added to Heroclix. These weapons could be one use (or more perhaps?) weapons with a point cost (could be 10-30pts depending on how powerful it is). These Weapons could give the user some ability/power or even something new. In comics, villians are always coming up with some new weapon to capture or neturalize the enemy. How about a neutralizer gun that puts the target to sleep for 3 turns on a sucessful hit? Or, negates all that targets powers but not Team Abilities or Stats?
As far as I know the capture rules only apply to capturing the bystander tokens during the scenarios. But then again, I haven't taken the time to really read over the new map kit rules.
As for you weapon idea, that could be an interesting house rule or scenario. Maybe place them like you would objects so people would have to go and find them.

The rules sheet refers to capturing "figures" because certain scenarios included with the map sets require capturing figures like Logan/Wolverine/Weapon X. I think there is a very very low probability this will become a standard rule.
You can't shake the devil's hand and say you're only kidding.
i think capture is fine. you still have to get to the map edge with the fig...and any close combat hit frees him.....after playing a few scenarios with it....it didnt unbalance anything, just made it diferent.
