played on the Bridge and Magneto basically blew them away. After some bad placement and bad luck Nightcrawler was one-shotted by Magneto (dual enhancement from Frost and Tessa) and it basically went downhill from there.
I played a second game swapping Beast for SR Storm from MuMo. Also limited actions to 3 per turn
Second game took place in the Junkyard as I thought that may give the x-men a better chance. Nightcrawler managed to drag Magneto back to within range of their own starting area, but no-one was able to hit him! That 18 defense was a swine to hit. Wolverine managed to miss his flurried blades attacks only needing 7s each time. Again it was a total victory to the brotherhood as they didn't lose a single figure. Part of me thinks it's down to poor luck, but how on earth do the x-men deal with such a beast?! I would've expected someone to have hit him at least once with law of averages but the Master of Magnetism seems far too good against his greatest foes...
Well, he IS the veteran Magneto... he SHOULD be tough!
You have to get in close to Magneto, obviously. Shooting him from range is just too hard.
Were you not using Theme Team Probs? If you had Prob'd Woverine's rolls, odds are, he'd hit ONE of those B/C/F attacks.
Outwits help as well. You can't take his ES/D away, but you can take his Toughness away, at the same time you take his halving-your-range. Then at least you can hit him from a distance.
But yeah, he's very tough to take out. As he should be!
