I nominated Orange Blossom Special, and I've been sitting on my hands ever since the round went up trying to decide which one to vote for. I didn't really know who Buddy Guy was at all going into this, but his blues guitar in Baby Please Don't Leave Me just blew me away.
Other people have already said how great these two artists are, and have said it more eloquently than I'd be able to, so I'll just close with a vote for the picker: I vote Chet Atkins - Orange Blossom Special. It's really a shame both of these can't advance.

The song is from Buddy Guy's Sweet Tea album released in 2001.

With that being said...my dad was a fiddle player, and as much as I like Chet Atkins and his take on this song, it just doesn't sound right to me.

HOWEVA, I had not heard that song from Buddy Guy before, and I stopped everything I was doing just to listen. I then went looking for the cd on Yourmusic.com (since they're having a going out of business sale). Sadly it wasn't there, but I'm pretty sure I'll be owning this in the near future. BUDDY GUY - BABY PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME

I've heard a lot of bar bands play a similar style to Buddy Guy. Chet has influenced quite a bit as well, but his playing seems to have stayed a bit more unique than Buddy's.

Allow me to clarify for some of the class. Orange Blossom Special was written for violin/fiddle originally. My old company owned the rights to it and the only way we had it available was as a violin solo. No vocals, no guitar. WM's dad as a fiddle player would know that version over all others. It's also the one that I know better as well, although I'm also familiar with some of the others arrangements of the tune.

I'll go with Chet on this one, by a decent margin.
