Maybe the cartoon's designers played Clix under the older rules.

If that's the case I will give infinite cudos to the first cartoon to have someone like batman stand in ankle deep crud and have the villain try to use some special countering equipment, and the following takes place.

Mr. Freeze: (in the awesome timverse floaty voice mind you) Batman, with this ray it has finally come time to put your many inventions, toys, and trinkets on ice...

Batman: No, you can't.

Mr. Freeze: I believe I can, batman, you are standing right in front of me, and... well... I do not mean to speak overly fond of myself, but I am a pretty decent shot with my freeze ray.

Batman: No, you can't. Because you can't see me.

That would make my decade.
