Hi there

I am making my way through the 2011 rulebook and this part on elevation confuses me in how it is written-

"A character at a lower elevation is adjacent to elevated
terrain when the only reason the square in question
is not adjacent is because it is a higher elevation."

Is this basically saying that when two characters (one elevated and one not) are right next to each other the higher character is considered adjacent to the lower character only??

Nope. That is speaking of adjacency of a character to the terrain. It is not speaking of adjacency between characters.

For example:

E E . . .
E E . . .
. . C . .
. . . . .
The grounded Character is adjacent to the Elevated terrain here.

E E . . .
E E B . .
. B C . .
. . . . .
The grounded Character is not adjacent to the Elevated terrain here because of the Blocking terrain.
