Not that I have a bias towards the Star Fleet Battles side of things...
Thing I don't like is that with the Star Trek license, I don't think we are going to see a bunch of things that we want. All the SFB and FASA ships along with the Franz Joseph "Technical Manual" are out, which makes me want to cry. I would be completely happy with a set that had nothing but the ships from that marvelous Technical manual.
I wonder how the gameplay is going to be designed.....judging from Hammer of Thor and Brave and the Bold, it seems that the game design is moving away from modifying your army/team through cards (golden age rules). I wouldn't mind having crew cards for my ships like I have feat cards for my Heroclix figures. I wonder what the alternative is though. Mechwarrior had pilot card for the mechs.
1) Crews - I think the best thing about Star Trek is that each crew is unique. Removing this element from gameplay would drastically reduce my desire to play.
2) BFC/Objectives - Whether a match relies solely on completing an object or if it is a bonus to scored points, I like the variety this could have. Otherwise, it becomes Star Trek Online: Tabletop.
3) Accurate Ship-to-Clix Design - I know there's no way around it, in every game there's going to be something like a Ferengi Freighter that's too good for the points and has one ability/stat synergy that skews gameplay, but I would like the design to be scaled to the tech of the ship being made. A Miranda should not beat a Romulan Warbird based on dial alone.
4) Andorian crew members!
5) Single-base models on a gridded map - One thing I didn't like about Mechwarrior was that the maps forced the use of a ruler. There were no hexes or squares, and I really don't want to have this conversation again:
Me: My Cygnus will take a shot at your mech.
Guy: I'm out of range.
Me: (measuring) You're, like, two inches inside my range.
Guy: When I measured it, I was outside.
Me: You might have measured it wrong.
Guy: Well, if you could shoot me, I wouldn't have moved there.
And so on. Also, having the ships on a single base makes the game look more sleek and soft on the eyes.
I think anything will be cool, but some Dukat and Cardassian love would be p. awesome. Although I doubt I'll see any Cardassian stuff in the first set ;-;
I also like the Ferengi and Quark is just cool. I was never too smitten w/ the ships, and probably wouldn't get into the Starship game if they split it up, or only have Trek Clix as a starship game.
For starship combat, I really just want the original NCC-1701 Enterprise, so I can totally pwn the NX-01 with photon torpedoes at Warp 6!
Now, for characters..
Captain Kirk with 'Where No Man Has Gone Before' phaser rifle.
Spock with Incapacitate (Vulcan nerve pinch) and Tricorder SP (he can use Perplex, but only to modify an adjacent friendly character's range, AV, DV, or damage by +1), carrying a Lirpa.
Data, with his immunity to automatic weapon fire from 'First Contact' and for his 'flotation device' mode from 'Insurrection'
Worf, with Bat'leth. Pure coolness. Also Battle Fury, BCF, and Flurry.
Odo. Is there any reason he shouldn't be able to turn into a Mugato, a Horta, or a piece of hindering terrain for a friendly character to hide in?
The EMH Program. Since he's a hologram with no physical form other than his mobile emitter, he should have a ridiculously high DV, and immunity to pushing damage. Also Support with a high attack, to represent his access to the Starfleet medical database.
Tom Paris as Captain Proton, just because old school is
1. KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!! (Sorry had to lol)
2. A "Q" box set ala Green Lantern Corps or BPRD
3. The Traveller/Wesley Crusher duo
4. Generic Borg (think Cuckoo but harder to kill)
5. Spock in his red spacesuit from TMP. (as a clix an annoyance with hypersonic)
Ships/vehicles:
1. The Undiscovered Country Bird of Prey that can fire while cloaked.
2. V-GER
3. Species 8472's ship
4. The Jellyfish from Encounter At Farpoint
5. The Argo ATV from Nemesis
1. The Undiscovered Country Bird of Prey that can fire while cloaked.
Definitely.
That brings up something that needs to be in the rules-ships can't fire when cloaked. IIRC the FASA Trek miniatures game (that I played a whole lot of) did not have that rule though it did require a lot of power to do. There were a lot of arguments over that with my primary opponents for that game back then. I have no idea whether the SFB family of games has that rule or not.

NO firing when cloaked in SFB.
Like Malakim, I am very sad that the SFB universe isn't going to be included in this... there is such a rich history in terms of classes of ships to do every mission, as a real interstellar navy would have... I don't know if NECA/WK has the intent to get into that level of detail, or if they are just going to give us a game that lets us fight the named ships of the TV/movie universe.
I HOPE it is the former -- that NECA/WK will have a plan for the navies of the different races, and develop the game outward from that, as opposed to just "another version of the Enterprise and something from episode 61."
I want all the Enterprise ships. But, I don't think they will releases them all in the first set. Maybe the ones in the shows first, then the movie editions.

Top ships...tough one, but I have a few random preferances:
USS Enterprise-D
USS Prometheus
USS Relativity (or Aeon; yes, I want to mess with the space/time continuum!)
Borg anything!
and like Karma said - Species 8472!
Crew:
Picard/Locutus
Worf
Martok
Lore
Orion trio from "Bound" on a single base, lol! :D
