Personally didn't think that Guardians had the ooomph to handle cosmis type stuff, though they were kinda interesting...but I love the group of characters in Annhilaters...thought the groups name might be better but nonetheless great cast. Would have to agree it was a little rushed, would have rather it would have been stretched out a few more issues. My opinion is toss Rac & Groot, make the Annhilaters a little longer, with some good imagination there should be plenty of storylines that could be developed. Not to mention more space/cosmic type characters could swing by and help out once in a while. No reason Marvel couldn't develop this into another great long-standing group mag!
Eh. I miss the Guardians. The whole point, even of the original series, is that they weren't all-powerful. I'd rather read about "normal people, doing their very best" than cosmic brawlers. That's what gave Annihilation the appeal it had.
Not to mention half the team has other duties - Surfer has Galactus to feed, Gladiator and Ronan have empires to lead/co-lead/rebuild.

That's the point, mate. They were outgunned, outnumbered and outclassed at every turn and still managed to save the day. That's awesome. But apparently, it's not your speed.

I guess you didn't realize that Dan and Andy had written the Rocket & Groot mini as a standalone followup to their space saga, but that with the success of War of the Kings and the build up to Thanos Imperative, Marvel told them to write something with the big guns, to push sales. Rocket & Groot was supposed to be the standalone. The actual Annihilators story itself was the filler.

When it comes to Superman and Batman, Grant Morrison is nothing but a 50's cover band in a 70's psychedelic funk style.
I miss Nova and the Guardians(the second version). The Anihiliators were ok, I guess it was the first story arc and maybe it will get better, but the character interactions were just no where near normal DnA level. I enjoyed the Rockey and Groot story, I just want Nova and Star Lord Back, even if thanos comes with them. I hope earthfall is better.
