I posted this on the Final Word thread, but would like to hear discussions from other players as well. So I'm posting here as to not bog down that thread.
JL #002 - Aquaman
Parry: When hit by a close combat attack, Aquaman can use Super Senses.
Now for Aquaman to use Super Senses he needs to be hit with a Close Combat Attack. Say that he is, and he rolls a 6. Now he's hit with a Ranged Combat Attack. Does that previous Close Combat Attack give me use of Senses? Yes it does, or only for CCAs. Either answer can be correct.
SPs/Traits like these are abound. What are everyone's thoughts on this.
Leaving it fairly open so as not to limit it to just this SP & figure.
Also, would it be too much trouble to errata this guy a keyword?

I would say the duration of the WHEN event is limited to the Close Combat Attack that grants SS.
Otherwise you could claim that once hit by a CCA he has it as long as he has the Parry Power (carry over into other turns).
I will check for a rules precedent.
I think the HYDRA TA is a good example of this....The minus one to defense is only applied when usingthe Hydra TA not a continual effect that stays in place for each attack after using the HYDRA TA.

Please note that the Final Word thread is only for OUTSTANDING rules questions that we are waiting for resolution on. It is not for asking questions that have clearly established answers.
Please stick to asking questions here, not in the Final Word forum.
I sorta did post it here. granted the post in the Final Word was in case a not oft-used figure got over-looked. But it did become somewhat of and outstanding issue for me since I do run him.
Though it's all good. And the point of this thread was to also post similar SPs like AA Two-Face:
MERCY OR MURDER: THE COIN DECIDES: Once per turn, before you give an action to Two-Face during your turn, roll a d6. On a result of 1-3, Two-Face can use Incapacitate until the end of your turn. On a result of 4-6 Two-Face can use Psychic Blast until the end of your turn. (Two-Face is not required to be given an action after you make this roll.)
He doesn't need to make that roll immediately prior to an attack. So he can roll, then the rest of his team can take actions, then he can decide to attack or not.
Similar question on another thread for CA Quasar:
QUANTUM TELEPORTATION: Quasar can use Phasing/Teleport. When he does, if he moved 5 squares or less, after the action resolves he can make a ranged combat attack at half range as a free action.
What requires that the attack be made immediately and not just later in the turn?
Whereas AA Robin has:
TEAR GAS GRENADE: Robin can use Smoke Cloud. When Robin uses Smoke Cloud, after he places all hindering terrain markers he can immediately use Incapacitate as a free action but can attack only a single opposing character occupying a square containing a hindering terrain marker he placed that turn; ignore the effects of hindering terrain on the attack.
His specifically states immediately.
So I was looking to see about bringing up similar questions in regards to SPs that folks have played a certain way but upon closer examination they may be, "Oh, wait. It can really do this instead."

from the rulebook page 16 explaining how powers are activated.....
Quote
• Some game effects require that a character be given an action. These effects only activate when the character has been given the action specifically to activate the game effect. The game effect then overrides the normal activity of that move, close combat or range combat action.
• Some game effects activate as a result of something specific happening. The game effect will use the words “when” or “if” to describe the scenario required to activate the power or ability.
• Other game effects are always active or otherwise specify when they can be activated.
This is a WHEN/IF power so the effect only activates WHEN the conditions are meet.
