Alternate Worlds is effectively no more, as of a month or two back. I think that spells the end of Heroclix in Melbourne. And as high as their prices were for singles, I know of no other place that sells them now.
I'm late to this thread, but that's because I only started getting interested in Clix again in the past few weeks, and started looking for info on the local scene...

Kinda ridiculous that the clix scene is booming just up the road here in Ballarat but it's virtually non-existant in Melbourne. Someone just needs to find a GOOD gaming store in Melbourne that is willing to host tournaments and stock clix, and offer to run their tourneys for them.
Christ did not come to condemn the world, but to save it.
Alternate Worlds has moved way out to Bayswater as a showroom/warehouse to conduct sales mostly online.
As for gaming, according to their website:
Coming Soon at our New Showroom/Warehouse
Twice a month on Sundays
Open Gaming
However they handled the gaming side of things, they were one of the best COMIC shops in the world and their closure was a real blow for comics in Melbourne.
I here there is a great new comic shop in the city called All Star Comics. Haven't been in to check it out yet but it's supposed to be quite good. Also Comics R' Us is a good store not far from where Alt Worlds was, although they don't stock clix. I'll have to check whether All Star stocks clix.

ALL STAR is very similar to COMICS R US but with friendlier staff. They do not stock Clix.
However, MIND GAMES MELBOURNE on Swanston St (?) does have a few of the Clix special non-random packs upstairs.

Yeah I know the guys there, really nice guys. I just sent them an email asking them if they would consider stocking clix and they said they're reluctant to as they don't know much about the game.
However they said to try and get the Goodgames that is a few doors down from them to start stocking it and running tournaments. Apparently they are open to the idea but would need someone competent and keen to run tournaments for them most likely.
So any of you Melbournites keen? All you needs is a decent grasp of the rules and some people skills. I'd be happy to give some pointers, and could potentially even get some Ballarat players to attend sometimes.

My mates go to goodgames for friday night magic, the place is set up for tourneys, and the staff are very good. At this point of time, spending time starting up or playing is not an option for me, so unfortunately i will not be able to help out.

I've had some changes in my life since the end of last year, resulting in me being inbetween jobs atm as I quit my last one in March after 7 years (GSX release the week after quiting, hence I own none of it )
I may get back heavily into Clix after I found new work, but at the moment I will be trading for the few fig from GSX and the new set I want.

I hope this isn't to much thread necromancy. I just got interested in Heroclix this week myself and I was wondering if there was either a group that played and/or a store around Melbourne that sold anything other than the occasional Fast Forces pack.
I'd be interested in giving the game a shot myself. I picked up the Green Lantern Fast Force pack and I've 'played' a couple of games against myself to try and get a handle on the rules. But that's certainly not the same is it?

Is anyone still playing around Melbourne?
Thanks
I'd recommend asking around in Good Games. They should be able to order some boosters for you as well even if they don't have any in stock.

Thanks for the heads up WakandaMan.
Do you mean the one in Chapel St. in particular or any one in general. I live near the one in Dandenong but they had almost nothing when I was in there.
