This is such a strange final, yes Hendrix seems like a shoe-in but not with this song and Roth is no doubt talented but even the biggest Scorpions fans would have to admit that they would be surprised to see him make it to the final. I'm not saying they are terrible choices, just really weird and surprising ones. Anyway, all of that said I am going for the man that we all expected to win it from day one.
One-hundred and twenty-seven threads to pick Jimi Hendrix as "the best guitar player ever".
time well spent.
Jimi was almost bounced in the first round by Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine, and he squeaked out some pretty narrow wins over Tony Iommi and Les Paul. I think his presence in the final was by no means a certain thing. That said, I'll vote for Jimi here, and wait with eager anticipation for Guitar Wars 2.

That's quite true. Hendrix's presence here was definitely not a shoe-in. This was song Vs song and this Hendrix tune may have gotten bounced a lot earlier, but when people started to realize the emotional ferocity behind the manic chords and riffs and fills and solos was based on MLK's death, they gave the song it's proper due.
This wasn't a vote so much for Hendrix as it was for what passion could do when emotions took over.
I'm going to vote for Uli here but that's just to close the gap somewhat and is mostly a moot point.
