View Poll Results: How do you view Alter Egos?
A cheap way to get a powerful figure in to the game
Crappy choices for a poll, but I guess I do see them as a way to get a better figure in the game. I really like AEs so it doesn't matter much to me.

The same society that tells people to grow up is the same society that is terrified of words.
I didn't pick any of the options, because none fit my thoughts.
Personally, I'm not a fan. For the most part the AEs are not very good. Add to that the fact that they were hard to 'turn' = I never played them. I do like the recent changes to the AE mechanic, but time will tell if I ever actually use them.
Trade to Canada. We're friendly, and we love Beavers..........
I don't mind it, but I think NECA needs to be wise about how many they put per set. There should be a limited number of them and they should only be considered specialty figs. For example, I disagree with how they are being used in the Hulk set. It seems as is they are an overall theme for this particular set. We don't need Matt Murdock + 3 variations of Daredevil. Thats 4 slots for one character in already small set.
Part of me would almost have rather seen something like they did with the Int Field Experiment 15 in the Watchmen set.

You may replace character abc with a character named XYZ (with any dial symbol limitations) into the game. From the starting position, turn the dial 1 slot for each X points, (or fraction thereof) of his point value. Character XYZ can not be healed beyond the slot he is brought into the game, and is considered to have a point value of X (Or, the AE dial cost)
This would allow any character with the Alter Ego's transformation name to come in. It might give new life to older figures, and would allow any future versions to be used as well.
I'm sure there's some sort of formula. Going to look at existing figures and see if I can find something.
I like AEs for two reasons. The first is for the civilian figure. It's both nice to have them in the game, and they are, more often than not, usable in their own right. The "extra clicks" that they get make them very good if you can do it successfully. If you can't, well you still had access to useful support powers. The second reason that I like AEs is for the superhero version. If a superhero has an AE then you know that they will have a later dial upswing in numbers and/or powers. No chance of them getting hit into uselessness, even if you never play them for the civilian half.
I also like having multiple AE options, although I can see the complaint about multiple slots per set... Maybe a SI-like option where the civilian/superhero are in the same "number" slot? It wouldn't help the number of individual sculpts per set issue, and would practically guarantee that the slots "added" to the set in this way would be repaints, but that's another issue entirely.
I also have to say that will I love the Norman Osbourn AE, the fact that it could force a switch into an un-owned piece was a little un-needed. Save a character who requires a forced choice for the more common slots. (In WoS, just swap Anti-Venom and Green Goblin.)
