My friend said flurry and ew are now a legal move is this true
Quote
Flurry
Give this character a close combat action. After the close
combat attack resolves, it may make a second close combat
attack as a free action. If this character loses Flurry before
it makes the second attack, it can't make the second attack.
Quote
Exploit Weakness
Give this character a close combat action. Damage from the
attack is penetrating damage.
It is not true. Flurry and Exploit Weakness are both Close Combat Actions, so you would have to pick one or the other.
I thought it was Power Actions that could not be combined, not Combat Actions. I remember reading in the rule book that you can't use more than one Power Action per character per turn, but you could use a Power Action and Combat Action together, or multiple Combat Actions.... I must have been wrong. Would anyone care to explain this all in better detail for me? That way I can tell my roommates about this and implement it into our next gaming session.

It's not just power actions--each action you give to a character to activate a power is used for that particular power. If you give a character a close combat action to activate exploit weakness, you can't give him another one to use flurry.
Blades/claws/fangs is an exception to the normal wording and works with other powers because instead of starting with "Give this character a close combat action" it says "When this character is given a close combat action" meaning that it triggers when you give a close combat action for something else.
If either exploit weakness or flurry was worded the same was as blades/claws/fangs, you could use exploit weakness and flurry together, but that's not how they're actually written.
I really recommend reading the post stickied in this forum called "explaining power interactions." It does a great job of explaining why some things work together and others don't.
