Episode 89: Superman and HulkThis week Steve and Gudda talk about what everyone was hoping for in the new Heroclix Set Superman, some Hulk talk, Spider Island and
Thundarr!
Better late than never. We had some server issues Tues/Weds trying to get this podcast online and then we forgot to feed it to "iTunes". But here it is.
For Halloween, we are each taking dibs on a horror movie, and then casting the roles with our Heroclix pieces. For example, if I chose Nightmare on Elm Street, I would probably play Wolverine as Freddy and a bunch of Teen keywords.
i can kinda agree on the chase sculpt thingy but sod and earth1 look amazign
Again I haven't seen any yet so I don't know

Very interesting take on that. Very fresh and new. I like that.
The Earth-1 Superman figure looks terrible. The hoody he's wearing makes him look like a girl with long flowing red hair.
Hey Gudda, what was that original Avengers / Spider-Man line-up you were thinking of? I'm guessing Spider-Hulk, "Iron" Spider-Man from Avengers, and Spider-Man from Hammer of Thor as Hulk, Iron Man and Thor, but who were you planning to use to represent Wasp and Giant-Man? Spider-Girl would make an okay sub for Wasp but I'm not sure which Spider-Man would work for Hank Pym.

i wish this was my idea , but it was given to me by a friend who took it off of here .
Avengers Spiderman (Iron Spider) as Iron Man
HOT spider man (with Mjolnir) as Thor
WOS spider Hulk as Hulk
now where you stretch it a little
Sinister Vet Spider man + pym particles (as antman)
and SI spider girl fills in for wasp
Great podcast as usual. Like you guys, I'm a Marvel zombie and will probably only pick up a single booster of Superman.
I'm hoping to hear more about Hulk in the next show now that we have dials for Bruce Banner, 3 Hulks (if you count the robot), She-Hulk, Abomination, and Skaar

Just listening to this right now, I heard you're looking for a Halloween scenario.
This is one I've run before with my friend. We both made 300 point teams and then 600 points of zombies then tried to take them on. It was pretty ridiculous, I don't think we ever one and to see that many zombies on the map was lots of fun.
Let me know what you think, I didn't come up with the idea (StabYourFace did back in 2005, and I modified it a little (though I can't remember how anymore)).
The End is Here

Introduction:
The day has finally come.. It's a zombie apocalypse out there.. Can you survive?
Set Up:
Select any Map
Battlefield conditions: a modified Darkness from the Mutant Mayhem Set (see below)
Minimum 2 players (One of the players must control the zombies)
The non-zombie teams consist of 300 points
Zombie team consists of 30 “generic” pieces for each 300 point team playing the game. (For example, in a 3 player game: Two players would make 300 point teams, the Zombie team would select 60 generics) Zombies do not have a point value limit. Characters selected just must be agreed upon by all players to be generic.
Some kind of marking device such as the ID-rings can be useful for this scenario.
Special Zombie Rules:
All zombie pieces have
-willpower
-exploit weakness
-free movement that does not give an action token
-battle fury (no range)
-steal energy
-Immune to poison
-Ignore any powers on their dial (stats only, no TA's, powers, traits, Duo, etc )
-Zombie team gets 3 close combat action per player not including the zombie player
(IE 3 players: 2 standard teams, 1 zombie team => 6 close combat actions/turn)
-None of these special rules/powers can be outwit
When Zombies Bite!
If a zombie successfully deals damage to a character mark the character to denote they are infected. The infected character remains friendly but at the beginning of every zombie turn infected characters take a click of damage (unavoidable/un-reduceable). If the piece is KO'ed either by the zombie bite or from a zombie attack leave the KO'ed character on the map, the space is considered blocking terrain that cannot be destroyed or removed. At the beginning of the zombie's next turn return the character to their first click. The KO'ed Character is now part of the zombie team and has all of the special zombie rules (IE, ignore their powers, team ability, range, etc).
Is there Hope for Humanity?:
-Players of non-zombie teams may use supporting powers (such as TK, support, defend) on another player's characters (IE Non-zombie characters are considered to be on the same team).
-Infected characters may receive standard healing in the attempts to counteract the automatic clicks of damage.
-Infected characters may also be the target of “friendly fire.” If an infected character is KO'ed by an ally remove the character from the board. The infected character does not become a zombie.
The Special Darkness Rule:
The zombie apocalypse is devastating the city. The abandoned building/poorly illuminated streets which you fight are prone to power power outages at any time!
At the beginning of the Zombie player's turn roll 1d6. On the result of a 1-3, the power is on and darkness is not in effect. On the result of a 4-6, the lights have flickered and all is dark.
For those without the battlefield condition Darkness, here it is:
Characters with a range value greater then 6 have a range value of 6 instead. Perplex may not be used to increase a range value to a number greater than 6. Powers and abilities that affect characters up to 10 squares away instead affect characters only up to 6 squares away.

Really Gudda? I thought the chases looked pretty decent comparatively speaking, but I'm a Superman fan and might be a little biased... Look at some of the past sets. Was this really out of the norm? AA Superman Prime looked like a cross between a pug and a bulldog (sculpt might have looked better with a bigger cape and more than black pinpoint eyes). And how about the big white bug eyes on UNL KC Superman (loved the sculpt, hated the paint)? Kal and SOD are my two favorite chases from this set, but the others really aren't as bad as this ep. makes them sound.
