LIFE FORCE PORTALS: When an opposing character takes damage from Trevor Fitzroy's close combat attack, after actions resolve you may place Trevor Fitzroy and up to one adjacent friendly character anywhere on the map as long as they remain adjacent.
i know ive seen it somewhere but i think it was the old rules ( and i may be mistaken) but my question is- if you attack someone and have its a hit, after impervious is rolled and your dmg is reduced to 0 is it still considered dealing dmg. i belive what i read said that even though its 0 dmg its still considered dealing dmg but not sure.
what im wanting to do basically us see if TF can attack someone with imp and port away even though he doesnt do any dmg

You did deal damage (whatever Trevor's damage value was + any modifiers to damage dealt like critical hits). The problem is that Life Force Portals doesn't care about dealing damage:

"Takes damage" is not the same as "deals damage". Damage taken is literally the clicking of the dial. No clicking, no damage taken.
