View Poll Results: Which space song is your favorite?
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
Heck, Bowie could probably populate this poll by himself. I like Walking on the Moon by the Police, but I'll go with the Thin White Duke for the purposes of voting.

Favorite Bowie Spaceman song...Starman with Mick Ronson on guitar.
Hey man, where's Deep Purple's Space Truckin'? Ian Gillan had the best pipe's in the world back then.
I'm very torn on this vote because any one of these songs could be my #1.

Yeah I knew I rushed this and could have gone with a few more. Space Oddity just seemed like Bowie's biggest hit of those types of songs.
Space Truckin' should have been there.

Old Stones, old memories! Even though I listened to friends Beatles, Herman's Hermits, Peter and Gordon, etc, the first "real" record that I ever got was Paint It Black by the Stones on a 45. My Dad bought it for me at Grants (I think) in Memphis. I remember being in the store, remember the name less. I liked it so much, my Mother jumped in (on her on track entirely) and bought the albums Ode to Billy Joe, and (later) Monkees Headquarters. There were some decent 45s I got about that time, but finally got back on the album track with Disraeli Gears. Because the Stones were my first, favorite group, it hurts a bit that the will be my last choice here.
A suggestion if reddyeddy? thinks other songs should be included, is in a little bit, do another Spaceman song comparison. Even use the same songs, along with some others. Who cares? They'll both be fun.
My favorite is really a razor-thin toss-up between Space Oddity and Mr. Spaceman. I think I'll go:
1- Mr. Spaceman
2- Space Oddity
3- Rocket Man
4- 2000 Light Years From Home
I was going for iconic. I dropped the ball with Deep Purple but I don't think I could even name the B-52s song you have in mind.
