Solid little Silver Surfer for the points. Will there be a higher point more beastly version? Yes, and I hope so. But for an economical Surfer, this one is excellent. He can certainly fight, but if you can get him to clicks 2 and 3, he's a great team player with 18 DV Defenend and 10 AV Support! Good dial.

And for the love of god why doesn't he start with Impervious? Can't this guy catch a break?

since it seems this one is intended to be played as Galactus' Herald, it would have made sense to give him Defenders TA instead of PC so they could have given him better stats (he should NEVER have 2 damage, except for maybe the last click)

Um, if this represents his time as a herald of Galactus then PC is the perfect power for him.

I understand that a Silver Surfer for 149 pts. needed to be proportionate for the points. But this dial makes NO sense to me. Again, I'm not looking for an uber powerful Surfer for the points. And I don't really disagree with the numbers (except for the 2 damage... Exploit Weakness and 2 damage perhaps...), but a little more thought could have been put into such an important galactic figure in Marvel lore for a set named Galactic Guardians.

well, keep in mind that the collector's number is in the 200s, which probably means that he's in the mini boosters, and they haven't given us a good fig yet in any of those. and i'm fine with that, cuz screw buying mini boosters looking for the one good fig out of 10. if there's a silver surfer in the 'real' set, i'm sure he'll be much better.

How do you figure that? The other has a closer representation of the true Surfer- longer ranger, higher damage and defense more mobility up front. This is not the Surfer.

Does no one realize this is the Herald piece for the new Galactus. Go look at Galactus and his Herald power, and its dial... then factor in all of this Silver Surfer's abilities. BAAM!

Gandalf. Fei Long. Cammy. Red Hulk. General Ross. The Leader. Hell, the GF Klaw is arguably the best figure in the entire Cap set. Please save your hyperbole for a thread where it doesn't make you sound completely insane/ignorant. As for this version of the Surfer, I'm with the rest of the class: he's way over-costed/under-powered. Make his defensive power on clicks 2 and 3 an SP that grants him Defend and Invluln, and I think he comes close to his point value.

k, howling commando & cammy are cute, and legolas is playable. but the rest of those are poop. i'm just saying the average track record for gravity feeds is such that players shouldn't expect much from any piece with a three-digit collector's number that isn't an LE. hell, most LEs aren't that good, either. the real good silver surfer will be in the actual set, in randomized boosters, just like most good pieces are.

Yeah, GF General Ross, Red Skull, Klaw, and Gandalf are TOTALLY "poop." And you should know since you're clearly an expert on what is and isn't good. All those other players that rave about how good those particular pieces are? Well, they're just crazy.

I have yet to play with either of them (the sets aint out yet), but from just looking in the units section, this 149 point Surfer beats out the 200 point FF version. Hell, at least this one gets Support and Pulse Wave. And who's idea was it to give the Surfer WITH Energy Explosion 1 lightningbolt, but give the one without it 2 of them? Its like they had the perfect Silver Surfer dial and chopped it up into two different heroclix figures that don't seem to please anyone. I'd plat 100 point FF Surfer over this one any day, but I'd gladly play this 149 point dial over the 200 point FF version.

This is a great, fairly inexpensive version of the Silver Surfer with great powers and playability. @ JayThor- I understand you want a surfer that represents him more accurately, but keep in mind that at different times of his life his powers did fluctuate. Not to mention the other 2 surfers available that suit your style of play (One you can play at 2 different point levels and the other is more of a representaion of the actual power level of the Surfer). Keep an open mind and actually try different things based on the format of the game ( I.E.- Game point level, Feats, Modern and Golden age game play, ect..) You may be surprised by what you find out about it ;)!
