View Poll Results: Which Riverboat song satifies your inner Mark Tawain?
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
Looks like I'm the lone vote for Mountain. I knew I'd get at least somebody mentioning the Ike and Tina Turner version of Proud Mary but half the appeal of that is visual (watching Tina shake and shimmy) so I had to leave it to the original version.

Funny, I thought Ike and Tina's was the original version.
The first version I ever heard was by the Osmond brothers. Then I saw the Ike and Tina version on an old show called "The Music Scene". As an impressionable preteen; watching Tina Turner move like that, with those legs, will always mean the Ike and Tina version must always be visual for me.
Then I learned it was a John Fogerty song.

Two of my favorite-est songs from my early years! Leslie West may be one of the best guitarist that ever played. Frankly, Mississippi Queen is nowhere near my favorite Mountain song, but its still outstanding!
