It is the only one that is low enough points, right? The only way this is remotely Surfer-esque is to play it as a Herald. Otherwise, good dial, not good Surfer-dial. Say what you want- he is arguably the most powerful "superhero" in comics. He could waste Superman, and battle a god like Thor to a standstill. He should be represented better. He shatters light speeds, absorbs and controls all energy forms, and can transmute matter. He has uber-level super-strength, nearly impossible to hurt by anyone on earth physically, and blast from space to earth with blasts that hurt whoever they hit, and is able to track a dust mote across the universe. Tell me this even remotely represents that.
For God so loved the world, that he gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Not a fan of this Surfer, nor any of the Surfers in this set. They all seem like watered down versions of the character. The 2nd and 3rd clicks are scary, but not in a good way. Scary to get him onto as Poison or Force Blast will neuter him. I could live with the 3 Damage to start if he had an 11 Attack. Conversely, I could live with the 10 Attack to start if he had 4 Damage. However I don't like the 10 Attack 3 Damage to start, it just doesn't seem like Surfer. Combine that with the rest of the dial = mehhhhhh. Sculpt is awesome though.

idk y this piece is at 4 stars. this is an amazing piece. ive played him twice and he has done real well for me. he is a prime candidate for the gaunlet. but w/ out it he is still a monster. i am not a fan of those two yellow clix in the middle. but they can be very useful. surfer will get a lot of play from me.
I've used this piece twice; in a 500 and a 600 point game.
It's best used as a transport, secondary attacker; using hypersonic to get away from combat. It's not cool seeing your opponent tag Surfer for three/four to get onto clixs 2-3 and then moving in with a high AV figure and taking Surfer out of the game.
I think this is actually pretty accurate for a Rookie Silver Surfer.
Agreed. But, some people tend to hate on the popular figures because they prefer having a super powerful version. This has happened to the majority of the GF versions, just because they're lower point versions of the characters.
OK, so I actually had the opportunity to play this figure today. It was a 500 point Defenders team (that also featured the Dr. Strange and Hulk from the set). Now, granted, I played the Gauntlet on Surfer as well (though that didn't really affect the outcome of the game, as by the time I got to anything useful, the game was pretty much over anyway), but this guy was my Super Star. He's much better than I gave him credit for. Maybe it's the double targets? Regardless, he was a one man death machine out there today, so I had to comment and boost his rating a little higher. I still don't think he's all that comic accurate, but he's a good figure and if I'm looking for a cheap SS in the future I'll definitely reach for him again. Once more though, sculpt is killer.
