Okay. Characters from several sets are retiring soon. Maps from those sets are not retiring, What abou5t the objects? Are they retiring or not? Before someone jumps on with a quick answer there have been instances in the distant past where objects were not retired when the set was?(Oversight? I don't know.) I would appreciate it if an Orange could relay an official ruling. Thank You.
Today is a good day to die! But then, so was yesterday, and hey, tomorrow's not looking to bad either.

All elements of a set are moved to Golden Age (ie retired) at the same time, including special objects.
Otherwise everyone would be using the Meteor and the Gamma Bomb together all the time! Unless they were using the Infinity Gauntlet of course.
I think the properly color-coded maps don't get retired because there would be a severe lack of maps to play on if they did.
Also ATA's are not retired as they are (now) not tied to a specific set.

I am not familiar with those instances. Care to give a little more detail?
His syntax is fairly tortured, but I think he was asking if there were such instances, not saying that there were.
Either way, the original 3D objects were not IIRC tied to IC/H. They were old when I started playing in 07, but there was some weirdness with their retirement status I forget the exact details of.

1)Maps are part of a set. 2)Maps are treated as a separate element. 3)Retirement refers to characters of a set. 4)Objects are not characters, but are a separate element of a set. I ask for 2 reasons: A) We now have a new element in the set that will have to be considered in future retirements(Gauntlet, Batman Utility Belt, etc...). and B)This retirement if it includes the objects will put even more pressure (I believe) on players to play the Gauntlet to remain competitive as the # of playable alternative objects will be sharply reduced(yes I know there are 6 kryptonites but I have only seen regular play for 2 of them as opposed to 5 of the 9 lanterns and Mjolnir). The one thing I don't enjoy is seeing forced conformity of teams.. I remember my first(and last) year of playing in a bunch of tournaments at Origins the year after IC came out. I grew very tired of facing wasp/firelord teams(3 in a row). No matter how much you build for a team the dice will give up eventually. As for previous set/object/retirement the LAST that comes to mind was when LSH starter set was retired the objects were still allowed to be used after the retirement date at major convention events. Whether this was correct or not there is enough confusion on the matter to bring the matter up.

Maps don't have a set symbol on them, so they aren't considered part of a set. Wizkids just releases new maps that (usually) fit the theme of a new set when it is released.
Resources have set symbols (the Infinity Gauntlet set, in the case of the only one we have now) and will be subject to retirement when the figures from that set are.
As for the LSH objects being used at a Wizkids sponsored tournament at a convention after they were retired, I have no idea. That may have just been an oversight at that event.

Some maps do have a set name printed on them, as you no doubt are aware, but, as pointed out, the tournament document specifies that any maps with the color designation is legal for use.
As for the objects from LoSH not getting retired, you are mistaken. You might have seen the objects played, but there are any number of explanations.
1) The person may have been fielding them as standard objects.
2) The scenario may have been an unrestricted event.
3) The person playing them got away with illegal team elements.
Etc.
There have been times where individual figures were not retired with the sets they were from. IC Mail away Hulk, Fooms, both stayed "current" for a year after the set they were from retired.
I kind of wished they did that with Jon Osterman, Dr. Manhattan, as he only came out last year. But hey what can you do?
