"ALL BECOME MY SERVANTS, EVENTUALLY: Once per game, when an opposing character is KO'd, if that character is a lower point value than an already KO'd character from your force, you may place the opposing character adjacent to Mistress Death on their starting click as part of your force. That character is KO'd if Mistress Death is KO'd."


My question is in regards to the timing of her special power on damage, does this kick in the moment an opposing player's piece is knocked out or can one wait to knock out several figures and then choose a figure?

This came up yesterday at our 5th IG event our judge explained it in a way I was ok with but I would like a final and official explenation.

At the moment, my opponent had only KO'ed one of my figures which was 120 points then I had Ko'ed one of his at 75 points, my lowest figure was 76 points and Mistress Death was then dealt damage through an attack from Thanos. Then she was knocked onto the power; ALL BECOME MY SERVANTS, EVENTUALLY.

A power can not be activated until it is showing.

When this power is showing, do the following checks:

Has this power's effect already been used? If not keep going.

Has an enemy just been KO'd? If so, then keep going.

Is the opposing character that was KO'd of a lower point value than a character on your force that has been KO'd? If so, then keep going.

If you meet all those requirements, then you get the effect. If not, then nothing happens, and you wait until all the requirements are met.


It kicks in once all the prerequisites are met. You do not get to choose the timing.

What you can do, though, is KO your opponents at the appropriate time to get what you want. It requires a bit of thinking ahead, but it could make the difference in the game.

Actually...

The pre-reqs must be met for the placement to happen, but the placement does not have to happen the first time the pre-reqs are met. Because of the may.

Ah, yes, you're right.

So you can choose whether the effect occurs, but you can't choose to go back and pick that figure later. You have to pick the figure that was just KO'd.
