Just noticed that I have two of this figure, but the hammer/axe is facing a different direction on each of them. I know its supposed to be a hammer, but one side of it has an axe blade type thing on it.
Does anyone know if there is a difference in value between the two?
His damage values are astonishing for the points! In light of that, his defense doesn't bother me at all. This is a piece that takes some hits but beats you faster than you beat it. Point and kill!
Ra's Al Ghul: "Your mentor is slain. You are wounded. You haven't the slightest hope of foiling my plans. Why continue to resist?"
Nightwing: "I dunno. Maybe they just raise 'em stupid in Gotham."
Personally, I love this figure. While I also like HoT Thor, he's about even with this guy until you play against a stealth team. Then you realize just how much better he is. I run him just for the insurance against stealth, and the lower point cost is great.
All the Ultimates need a remake. They were awesome when they came out, but many could use special powers that didn't exist back in the day. Still, killer figure, but his defence is terrible.

Even today, he is still a beast. I like his constant AV and damage (only 1 click of less then 4 damage). As for defense, I don't mind that 16, as the abundance of 11+ AV's make even a 18 very hittable.
This figure may be basic by today's standards but with that high damage through the dial he would still be good in a 500 point plus games because you could just send him right in the middle of the the action and keep your oppontent beating on him while your other heavy hitters do some damage. Your oppontent has to deal with him or he will keep beating the tar out of his figs. In lower point games he just has too low of a defense to be your main player. But this is still a fun Thor to play
@newhorizon You have 2 of these, madness, absolute madness
this clix is still one of the jewels in my collection despite having a crack in his base, stupid cheep plastic.
I currently have him in my supremacy league with vet hawkeye, and 2 experienced paramedics with the gauntlet on him with the first two gems (soul and power). It has him dealing 7 damage most rounds with basicly destroyed opposing teams and the 10 range just dares opponents to outwit something then get smashed.
Possibly the most awesome Thor ever made in the history of heroclix? This guys beats you like hell before you even realise that you lost your head. Have you ever seen a damage like that? This one is a pure beast, a melee machine made to beat the crap out of you. Sculpt is also one of a kind. Mama of madness.
No question he has insane offensive power. But, like the DC Kingdom Come pieces, it is kill or be killed with this figure. Hitting those defense numbers is not hard for a henchman.

I agree but on average the KC figures cost +200, whereas this one with a mere 186 PV is a bargain. Nonetheless, I think that the Green Lantern KC has still the highest defense value on the first clix of any other piece, if I am not mistaken?
If this is the best then I would hate to see the others. This is not a charge in with glory figure nothing with a 16 def is no indomitable no willpower apparently 2 clicks of running shot is awesome. If I wanted to waste $25 on him I would run him with some support. Healers ready running shot him in tk out. Facts are facts. thanos and the common superman at 150 points would still nuke him. I can see him being a serious threat with a powered up gauntlet but so would so many others. He's simply not a five star figure. As proof no one at my local shop has ever admitted to owning one.
When he came out, he was a 5-star figure. But his age is apparent in those lousy dv's. Sure he'd get smacked around by today's good figures, but so do other great figures from yesteryear. Icons V Superman was a god in his day, but All-Star Supes (common SM001) wrecks him with nary a scratch (I had him win with only taking 1 click). Age diminshes strength in this game.

Interesting to see so many folks criticizing this piece now. I think he holds up fine: he's still one of the nastiest damage-dealers in the game, and his 10 range is better than most pieces get today. His 16 DV was never good, but there are now many ways to compensate for it. Maybe pair him with the 75pt GG Dr. Strange; that'll give him ESD and a source of Perplex. Problem solved, right? At any rate, I agree that he has weaknesses, but he's relatively cheap for that reason, and he should still get in the first strike against almost any contemporary piece...

Exactly. People are insane if they think this figure is outdated. A 12AV with a 10 Range, 2 Arrows with RS and a TA that that can target Stealth figures with six, count 'em, SIX clicks of a natural 5 Damage? For a mere 186 pts? With ALL of the advantages, people are complaining about his Defense Value? That is absolutely insane!! This figure will never, NEVER be outdated.
