Quick question. If Deadpool picks up the Gem of Cytorack, does the traited toughness negate the 1 damage he'd take on a roll of 4 or 5 for Ridiculous Regen?
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just gonna ask em where they're going and hook up with them later.
..."if Deadpool were to somehow gain a damage reducing power or ability (say he was using the feat Life Model Decoy), that damage reducer would only function when Deadpool is damaged by something that is not an attack (like Poison or knock back damage). It he is damaged by an attack, his trait would kick in before damage is dealt, so there would be nothing for the damager reducer to reduce."
"Our mother has been absent ever since we founded Rome; but there's gonna be a party when the wolf comes home."
I was always under the impression that the order of defensive powers would go like this:
Shape change (yes i know, it isn't a :d-normal: power but it is still defensive) -> Super Senses -> Impervious roll -> damage reduction from imperv/invul/toughness THEN if you take damage roll Rediculous regeneration.
I played as Deadpool in a few games and he failed to do any good whatsoever. And so far, out of the four times I played against him, he only managed to survive a full game one time. This figure is just a horrible piece for the points based on personal experience. Too easy to hit, too many points making him worth hitting, and his trait only gets him so far. If he had Indom or permanent perplex then he'd be worth it. If I ever get another one I'm trading it away immediately like I always do. +10pts for the sculpt though.
I'm not trying to sound like a dick, or be a hater, or any of that, but this figure just screams "Fanboy Wet Dream!" to me. I honestly don't think Deadpool should be this effective, especially since he spends most of his time fighting nobodies or getting killed by characters that might make for a decent fight (In My Experience, At Least). Plus, he shouldn't be able to heal himself to full if you/your opponent have a hot set of dice that tournament. I had a Thunderbolts field team at 500 points that mopped up the rest of Deadpool's X-Force buddies and had him dead to rights, even factoring in his Regeneration. All of a sudden he starts rolling healing results with his trait, and I never did another point of damage to him that game. He ended up wiping out almost 3/4 of my team, and it really seems like that's not right. This isn't me crying sour grapes because I lost, either; I really don't think he should be able to take out most of a 500 point team on his own, just because he heals himself every time you try to damage him. Again, I'm not trying to sound like a hater or anything like that. I'm just trying to state my opinion in what seems like the appropriate place to do so.
@ Owlman166: Thank you for being understanding. About an hour after I posted my message, I realized that I might become very unpopular for saying it. I decided against editing it, since I've been hated en masse before, and prepared for a hater's ball to unleash itself on me. I should have known better, since most of the Deadpool fans I know shrug off most of the crap I've said about him in person and are still willing to be seen with me afterwards. And the sad part is . . . I need one now. He adds up to the points I need for a team based on what the new Thunderbolts are supposed to be, and he's the best version of him that there is. Welcome to the Dark Side, right?
I have had nothing but fun playing this figure and his trait has only let me down like once that I can remember. He usually heals or shrugs off most damage.
I don't think I have ever had him ko'd in a game either.
I think his dial is very accurate in portraying just how annoying he is as a character. The WC TA is perfect since he's a mercenary playing both sides usually[but tends to lean towards more just causes and sides with friends].
He's also more deadly than you let on as he has gone toe 2 toe with Taskmaster, Cable, Gambit, Rhino, Hulk...as well as Sabretooth once in probably one of the best comic moments ever.
I like to play him on X-Force theme teams along with the TA.
Gotta try him out on a Great Lakes Avengers team now.
I love this piece for the randomness of his trait and dial. When your dice are hot you are indestructible. When your dice are 'not' then your eating it hard. Perfectly fitting for the character.
