I like the fact that, since its speed is already reduced by -2 during the free action, it could carry someone with only another -1 reduction b/c of the rule of three. It could taxi someone a total of 11 squares (assuming no positive modifiers to his speed value were applied or Chanos didnt switch his speed and attack) w/ Pym or Ultron. With these two pieces on your team, it effectively can RS eight squares and then RCE. That is amazing.

Decent piece, makes a "Stark Armor" team even more feasible than before. Only beef? We finally get the "neo-classic" armor sculpt - and it's a drone.

That is what modding is for. I took this retro sculpt and put it on The Armored Avenger dial. Classic Iron Man with classic Avengers team ability.

By themselves, these guys can pay for themselves. It's with the Minion activation (conveniently facilitated by Ultron, Stark, or Iron Man) that they truly shine. Astral Strange showed us just how cool a free moving generic can be, and now Iron Drones take that up a notch by being free-moving generics with cannons! Move 6 spaces and blast the jeepers out of something! The drone got hit? Eh, have it move up and give the opponent a hug! Damaged? It can regenerate to keep hugging your opponent, forcing him to focus on it to KO it while being shot by two or three other Drones while Tony Outwits and sips a cocktail. Perfect for expanding my Iron Legion...

Agreed. I played this figure with Ultron and some Ultron Drones last night, and the free movement was nuts! Move in with free move, shoot! In someone's line of fire? Shoot and then move out of harm's way.

If you can get in two shots before being knocked off that first click then the figure has paid for itself in full!

Looking at newer dials, I do believe the 110 point wallbusting version is very much to my liking to represent this armor. Right down to the Avengers TA. I shall make it so.

This and the Ultron Drones are fast becoming my favorite minion team since Ragnarok (Fire Demons/Rock Trolls/Frost Giants/Surtur/Ulik). As a team they get overlooked until you see them played. right now my team is 1000 pts (Ultron, 7 Ultron Drones, 6 IM Drones) but I'm looking to make it 1200 by acquiring a few TRU Senitnel Mark 2s to add a little Outwit and more specially Coordintated Capture. I deally I'll be able to keep my opponents team having at least one action on all their figs at all times.

Oh wow, I had not thought of that. That's even better than I thought.

So can I do 2 move actions with these guys? First do the free move at a -2, then do a regular move action and full speed? All for 1 token?

I prefer free action move and then RCE, but yes.

Now if they can just make a doombot this good

The funny thing is, IMD makes a decent Golden Age version of Iron Man. I actually use this as a stand-in for the real deal.
