He's not terrible, but he's not the best Iron Man out there. For the points, he's worth it, especially the first two clicks. But why no flight? Really? Tony needs a taxi 'cause he's been drinking again!
Ra's Al Ghul: "Your mentor is slain. You are wounded. You haven't the slightest hope of foiling my plans. Why continue to resist?"
Nightwing: "I dunno. Maybe they just raise 'em stupid in Gotham."
It's sort of like my past is an unfinished painting, and as the artist of that painting, I must fill in all the ugly holes and make it beautiful again.
I was wondering what mark armour this version of iron man was bawd on? And who was on the avengers team when he wore it. Thanks in advance.
its the extremis armour by the looks of it, so new avengers through civil war & mighty avengers would work for comic accuracy. though the lack of flight (especially on this sculpt) has me wondering if wizkids were just thinking of a different time period or doing everything in their power to keep his points super low.
in all fairness i've used this guy twice already without even realizing he cant fly, my opponents didn't clock it either. since the disappearence of the flighing stand, wizkids needs to be a little more carefull with its sculpt re-use
When I realized that this iron man doesn't fly...I was so pissed! This is the only iron man in all clix that DOESN'T FLY! He is even flying on the sculpt! This is just plain ridiculous. I might never play this figure again. I may be over reacting, but it really irks me...
If you think about, it really wouldn't make any sense for him to be a flyer when his top click has him using "running" shot.
I thought about it. It makes no sense...Iron Man flies. What if I'm taking cover behind a wall on an outdoor map and I want to running shot over it????
At first I thought this was a bad figure, but if you consider that Tony Stark "AE's" to this figure, things change. Tony Stark can now change to a 10 ATK Sharpshooter with 6 range and RCE with 17 DEF and ESD that can stay alive with the Stand Together power. At 41 points, AE Iron Man is likely to stay alive and be on his Regen click after taking a hit.
Have only played the AE version. I give it a 5 based on the AE, though I'll reevaluate when I play him at full cost. Being able to AE into this and hit someone stealthed for 4 clicks is a pretty nice trick. Full cost looks more like a 4. You can't really complain much about RS and PB, including picking up Outwit and Hindering ignoring later now. The lack of flight and TA is definitely strange though.
One of the very few clix to combine sharpshooter and outwit, and until the Iron Man 3 set comes out, 1 of only 2 sharpshooter Iron Mans. I think he's at least 4 stars.

There are now three that have Sharpshooter:
This one, the 10th Anniversary #009, and the Tabapp version.
The worst iron man I have ever played. He's way to expensive for what he does(at the most he should have only been 100 points), and the fact that he doesn't have flight just adds insult to injury. It's just ridiculous to think of a guy with rocket boot's climbing up a ladder.
So Iron Man can't fly.
Why?
There are so many HC minis missing some skills characters should have.
Superman for 70 points can't even cover up all his abilities. Maybe he was weakened by kryptonite shortly before the fight starts. And the version of Iron Man got shot and damaged the necessary parts to fly.
I find it amusing that he need to use the stairs. :-) But my first reaction would be the same. Why can't he fly?
But using a flying Iron Man mini for a non-flying Iron Man is pretty stupid.
