How do you play Dr. Doom/Kang in a 300 point game? Strategy and Tactical Help Please!
Obviously I see the dial and powers, but what kind of map do I want? One that separates people like the Arkham Asylum one, so that I can transport and not be seen? Or one with more open spaces, or perhaps one with some elevation?
I don't have Kang until it gets here later in the week, definitely not by Wednesday when the little tourney is (300 point Modern, just a regular Chaos Wars thing, probably for the Spider-Man LE).
That's why I was hoping I could just get some strategy tips on the best ways to play him? It's between him or a full Gauntlet Modok with Intelligencia TA plus an AIM Agent and Amadeus Cho for exactly 300 as well.
You want an open map. Very open. Not a lot of blocking, so there are no HSS hiding spots. Little hindering because they cannot bust stealth.
There are two route: use range to your advantage, or push to the second click. If you are facing a hard to reach psychic blaster (say thanos) or a group of gothamites, you may want to maintain a respectable distance, then push to get to that second click. Then, you can teleport in and get in the first attack, with a duo attack no less. It is much riskier (1 voluntary damage plus granting the opponent opportunity), and really depends on your opponent's mobility.
Cause I remember in a sealed straight murdering a doom/kang on the Grandmaster's blocky map for IG7 and I remember being scared going up because I had a team of scrubs but basically just positioned better I think and was able to keep getting small potshots until he couldn't help but wear down. It wasn't fast or super easy, but maybe he's just not the best player because it was definitely surprisingly easy.
