I'm terribly interested in the teams that have been put together. I can't wait to see what comes out of this.
(also, in the 'Day 1; Semi-finals: Round 3' video that is already uploaded-- what is that colossal sized...thing? I'm already five minutes in and I haven't heard him refer to it by name yet)
Sometimes I blog about heroclix. Sometimes I blog about the existential crises I experience while thinking about heroclix.
I played in the Last Chance event today... 400 pts and you drop 100 after seeing your opponents team.... which meant for everyone playing 300 pts with 100 points you knew you were going to throw away.
I played...
FF Superman with full gauntlet
Leech
FF Star Sapphire
Lost in the 4th round by a die roll to Morgan (w gauntlet), Wasp, & Scarlet Witch. He needed an 8 to finish Supes an if he missed, I would have finished him. He rolled a 9. Too bad as I think I could have beaten either team in the 5th and final round, but that's how it goes. Beat An IM fronted team, a Kang/Prof X team, and a Sentroid along the way. Got an Apoc out of the event however.
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.
I got 12th. Played thorbuster, hot cap, scarlwt witch for the worlds semi finals. Only two matches I lost were very close. Glad to be an alternate. I'm ryan g by the way guys
2nd place omaha midwest heroclix championship 2013 14th worlds 2012! Manthing of the THUNDERBOLTS CLAN!!!!!! 6th place Omaha 2014 springfling ROC superqualifier
the colossal 'thing' is Uatu, who broke off his base.
As far as decklists, I ran my standby from last year, which still seems to do well:
Shazam 140
Lightspeed 25
Lockjaw 24
Dirk Anger 71
Leech 35
total: 295
The only other one I remember first hand is Tim's as he was my one (rather sound) defeat.
If I remember correctly, it was:
Nightcrawler
Havok V
Jean Grey R
Con Arist Rookie x2 (3?)
Cypher
Lockjaw R
Leech
Destiny R
It was a team with many very complex turns, and he played it very well.
The Inhuman of Team Vegas,
Black Bolt of the Vegas Illuminati
"I'm going to use Scarlet Witch to TK Leech..." Ack! No! He's stealthed! If I were the other player I would have stuck with my gut and gotten a judge's ruling.

I noticed that too but I will admit that, at first, I thought the guy on the left (blue shirt) was correct then I realized its only when throwing objects that you target the square, not the figure (ie, superman throws a dumpster in the bush that bats takes refuge in-splat!). Also, and maybe its because at the venue I play at we play a bit faster, the guy in the blue shirt seemed to play a little slow but again it just may be that I am used to playing a with people who play a bit faster-no criticism, just observation. (god I used 'play' alot).
Thanks for putting the match up- I love to watch how other people play and the different strategies used (especially in a more competitive tournament setting)
TK ignores stealth. You designate a character, not target.
But if the character with Stealth is in hindering how to you draw a line of fire to him? You can attack a character in Stealth with an object because you are just targeting the square. You can't try to move a character in Stealth with TK because you can't draw a line of fire to it to make the ranged combat attack.
In the wording of TK it says "designate another target character or object" So the wording does say target which adds some confusion because I swore there was a ruling that TK got around stealth because it used designate. Maybe I'm thinking of the previous PAC where it didn't target or something.

TK gets around Stealth when your attacking with an object because you don't target the Stealth-ed character for an attack just a target square.
You can't try to move a character that is in Stealth because you aren't able to draw a line of fire to him for the ranged combat attack that you have to make to see if you can move the target or not.

I didn't want to have a judge rule it as that would have added an extra 1:5 minutes. I needed him to use Scarlet Witch. If he couldn't target me, he may not have and just rested her. TKing Leech doesn't help him but does token up Scarlet.
