My friend and I usually have fun (isn't that what the games is for?) and play 1000 point games. I LOVE the Asgardian and Avengers ATA's. I read somewhere that you can only use one ATA on your force. Is that true? (sucks if it does)
ADDITIONAL TEAM ABILITIES
Additional Team Ability (ATA) cards can be added to your force if the characters on your team meet the prerequisite listed on the card. Each ATA card indicates the cost per character that must be added to your force in order to use it in the game; all characters that meet the prerequisites must be assigned the ATA and your force’s Build Total is affected accordingly. ATA cards provide either different or additional team abilities to the qualifying characters on your force. These team abilities are possessed by the qualifying characters and can be used by wild cards (unless the ATA specifies otherwise). A force may only include one ATA card.

Yeah, we do (I HATE tournaments; I have all these old figures I paid for, so I want to play them) and have a blast playing, saayyy, Asgard's Elite vs. the Justice League.
Usually a 1000 points or so, that way, we can get as many "powerful" figures on the board.
But we do try to stay in line with the standard rules of play.
Lots of places hold golden age tournaments all the time. It is a standard and supported format, and includes all figures (well ok, no purple rings or Star Trek ships)

FWIW, in golden age it's still technically 1 ata per force.
