Ok a friend of mine came at with my questions regarding Sharp shooter, as I had no clear answer, I came to this great community for the answers I seek.


Sharpshooter as according to the new PAC.
This character can Ignoring opposing characters and may make a ranged combat attack targeting adject opposing characters.

ok and now the questions.

1.) Can a person using running shot and stop adject to the opposing character and make a ranged attack. Now keep in mind that Sharphooter says you can make a ranged combat ATTACK, where as running shot says ACTION. so I think the answer is No.


2.) If a person with sharpshot is being based by another character. Can the make the P/PB? once again, SS says ATTACK, P/PB says ACTION.


ok and on to another question unrealted to SS..

WHY can a Giant Sized character attack from 2 squares away, but a colasall cannot? This is mind boggling.
The main reason behind these is I like to have a solid ground to stand on incae someone thnks diferent, this is why i love when the rule arbs come in and set things straight

1) Yes he can. A ranged combat action will always lead to a ranged combat attack.

2) Yes he can use P/PB. See answer above.

Ok, I'm still new to the game, but I think you're doing the same thing that I did when I first started playing: confusing actions, attacks, and abilities. I still do on occasion but not as often.

You're using Running Shot. Running Shot says:
So, essentially ANY ranged combat action can be used with Running Shot. That includes P/PB as well as Pulse Wave and others. It doesn't matter whether or not the figure has Sharpshooter.

As I understand it, Sharpshooter is an ability that MODIFIES certain aspects of the attack. Normally, when based with another figure, you could only do a close combat attack. Sharpshooter modifies this and allows you to do a ranged combat attack against that adjacent figure instead.

Sharpshooter also allows you to ignore opposing characters when drawing LOF during a ranged combat attack. However, IIRC, you cannot ignore an adjacent figure - you can't do a ranged attack against a non-adjacent figure if there is an opposing figure that's adjacent (barring other powers/abilities that make you or let you ignore that figure).

So, RS gives you a ranged attack and that ranged attack can be against an adjacent figure because of Sharpshooter. Normally, you wouldn't be able to do that.

To answer your last question: Personally i think they did it that way to make it so giants have at least some advantage over colossals instead of just having colossals be a straight upgrade from giant.

but from a strictly rules standpoint, remember that colossals can make ranged attacks even when based by opposing figs. That's certainly not the same, but in most cases it's much more advantageous

They can only range attack figures that are not adjacent to them. Once you base a colossal, they must close combat you. Unless of course the colossal also has the sharpshooter ability.

This thread has now come full circle.

Colossals don't punch at 2 squares, because they dont like to bend over.

They only kick adjacent targets.

Why don't they kick 2 squares away?

Its just not polite.
