I've been a fan of Green Arrow ever since I saw him kicking but in Justic League Unlimited. That interest has been renewed with the new Arrow series (whether or not it is accurate I am enjoying it very much). So I am looking into getting some TBPs. Where is a good place to start? BTW I'm not really interested in the new 52 version, at least not right now. I appreciate any feedback you folks can provide, thanks!
I enjoyed the Green Arrow run by Kevin Smith (2000), starting with the "Quiver" story arc. After Smith left, I also liked with Brad Meltzer did with the character. I dropped the series once Judd Winick came along.
For older Green Arrow material I highly recommend anything related to Mike Grell (such as "The Longbow Hunters"). Of course, before that, Neal Adams and Denny O'Neill's run in the 1970's (on Green Lantern/Green Arrow) and the whole "hard travelling heroes" stories are true classics.

You're very welcome. I'll be interested to read your reviews after you have started going through the material. In case it helps, this Wikipedia article has a lot of good information on Green Arrow.

I have to agree that Kevin Smith and Brad Meltzer did great work with Green Arrow. I really don't like Kevin Smith, but he always writes comics I enjoy.
I also suggest Green Arrow: Year One.
"Batman's voice was half the battle. It took me a while not to be rattled by it. And then I found out that he had to work at keeping Bruce's voice. Then I got rattled again." -Tim Drake
Just to let you know, if you liked the Green Arrow from Justice League Unlimited, you might not want to start with Longbow Hunters or any of the Mike Grell stuff (Late 80's/early 90's). It's not fun and light-hearted. He made the character very gritty and dealt with issues that are really depressing.
It's good writing, but I don't know if you want something so dark if you're going into Green Arrow expecting the wise-cracking, trick arrow-shooting guy that he usually is.
I too enjoyed Smith and Meltzer's run and the above mentioned Year One.
I would recommend not reading any of the New 52 GA. It is the worst written of the New 52 comics. I have content problems with some of the other titles in the New 52, but GA is just bad all around.
I think the Arrow TV show is probably Ollies best treatment I've seen.

In addition to this, you might want to find some Justice League stuff, as he's usually written better in a team setting (I think). I would look at Justice League Elite, or some old Silver Age Justice League of America.
