I have the solution to all of Marvel's problems...Kill Tony Stark. Put someone with half a lick of common sense in the armor and keep Stark out of it. I used to like Iron Man when I was a kid but the number of dumb, ignorant stunts that he's pulled over the years just tips the scale to "Let him die."
Always try to leave an internet argument at lvl 1!
Definitely pro-Cyclops. Although both he and Cap were written poorly and out of character in the series. I've found AvX Consequences to be much more enjoyable the the main series.
Cyclops has become much more militant in recent years, but he is dealing with a lot. As the de facto leader of mutantkind, who have been decimated, I looked at his obsession with Hope as kind of a last-hope-desperation, which is understandable considering everything. Gillen's UXM was great before the relaunch, but I didn't care for the new series at all; the Sinister silliness, then the bubble-land story. AvX Consequences really picked up though, and I thought was a lot more intelligently written.
On the other hand, I've kind of looked at Cyke's progression this way; when you take a disenfranchised teen who has nothing and train him to be in and eventually lead a militia, don't be surprised when he turns militant. as for Xavier taking teens and dressing them in spandex, well that's another matter LOL
