Agreed. It also feels like the turn that they gave Stark in the movie and then in the comics. AND a bit of the turn that Reed took that led to the council of Reeds.
I really appreciate the notion that these geniuses waste most of their talents, but then reach the tipping point where they want to actually fix things.

This run takes me back to the feeling I had when "Smart" Hulk came around. Tons of potential, and a compelling premise. Here's hoping it sticks around!

Captain America was pretty good, but Hulk #1 really impressed me. Once again, Waid does something with a character that people weren't expecting. This is definitely my most recommended title this week.
Banner's undergone a bit of a change as of late. Mainly coming to terms with the fact that...well...he's kind of a dick.
Which is fine.
I've always thought under-confidence (or maybe a certain under statement) was a key part of his character, and I'm actually sad to see that gone. It makes Banner interesting when he's in a Room with Stark, Richards, and Pym.

Oh sure. I just think that he's needed to come into his own a bit. He's one of the smartest guys in the room and is starting to realize, "Wait...I'm one of the smartest guys in the room. Y'know what? !@#$ Reed Richards. I'ma start doing some science stuff."
Still, I think you'll see flashes of "milksop" Banner in there. Part of this characterization seems like bluster from the get-go, anyway.
