I agree with you Velvet. I don't know why Dwight wants to hit Brooklyn so bad. For Carmelo Anthony, it was his wife and family, but Dwight? Are he and Deron Williams really that good of friends? I do see Mark Cuban making a play for Howard though.
The only way I see Jackson coming back is if he is SOO bored with retirement...I mean he has nothing left to prove with a team like this...IO mean if went to a team to turn a loser into a pleyer maybe but winning with another all Star Team really cant hold an appeal to him...and he dont need the money

I don't know why Howard wants to go to Brooklyn so badly, but I'd have to guess that somewhere along the lines there was some shady deal going down and he was promised a lot more by the team's owner. He won't be a laker next season at all and you can say you heard it here first.

Not sure why people are so "surprised" by this... it seems to be the pretty obvious call. Though I predict a lot of 130-120 games by the Lakers. Not sure if they'll have the 130 or the 120, but it should be interesting to see.

Eh I dunno about obvious call. If Phil was willing to come back, I don't see how a coach who has never even been to the finals is the obvious pick over Phil. I don't see how any choice besides Phil was the obvious choice.
Care to elaborate? If it's because D'Antoni "fits the team better" - eh, nah. Dude has never been to the finals, and has largely failed everywhere he's coached. His style doesn't win in the playoffs. So there's already a list of reasons why you wouldn't really even want D'Antoni. That's besides the point that you had the chance to bring Phil freaking Jackson back. The best coach in history.
I'm watching ESPN now and they are intimating that Jackson's demands were going to be too high and that the team moved quickly in hiring someone that both Kobe and Nash were comfortable with.
D'Antoni would do well to hire a good defensive minded assistant to work the bench with him. They're going to have some problems on the perimeter defensively no matter who the coach is, and that needs to be addressed.

D'Antoni did good with Nash, but it was largely overshadowed by the Spurs and Lakers' dominance. This has a chance, but they need a defensive assistant. And they need a couple shooters. Problem there is they have no decent pieces to trade from their bench.
Rajon Rondo got two games suspension. I think he could have been given more, but because he's one of the faces of the league, he got off easy for his fight with Chris Humphries. Double R has some issues, and You'd like to see him play the game because he's brilliant to watch, but man is he ever over the top.
