Hey all,
I'm working on some commissions for a friend. I've done Master Chief and Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect already, now I need to find a base for Garrus Varakian. The question here is finding something of the right proportion. He has an unusually large chest and weird looking legs as you can see in the picture below.

Any idea for a body? I'm comfortable sculpting much of the armor, but I'm just stuck working on the proportions.

It may be a stretch, but the new Socialist Red Guardsman might be a start, and a lot less work on the armor for sure.

What about maul from the new Batman set?

the legs don't look like to much of a problem, they look like regular legs, the feet are a bit different but easy to make, just cut out a wedge in the heal. for the upper body i would look at the halo clix, for some reason i want to say they should have something that looks a lot like that but i don't know the names of them

That's a great Idea. Red Guardsman could work too, but I don't want to have to get hold of one and then destroy it.

Atrocitus' torso might work as well.

Legacy Mr. Freeze, at least for the torso if not the legs.

He would also give you a start on the armor.

I'd probably use AW Crimson Dynamo for the torso. The big shoulder pads and bulky arms are simply pegged in and with them gone you have a broad, barrel-chested canvas to work with. His legs do have a hint of the jackrabbit to them, don't they? You might find something among the Halo hunters or the Horrorclix predators, but really any of the figures of irregular scale could give you a decent starting point. Or simply use a kneeling position as in pic2 and obfuscate the dimensions completely.

I think I'd use the General August in Iron from the new batman, take of his arms so and head so you have room to work over his armor.
Then find a good sci fi gun, then repose and attack the arms to the gun and then paint it all. You'd also have to figure out a way to put his feet on the ground I would just steam a chunk of ground from someone, or maybe just make it yourself.

Don't worry. He won't be worth much. Even if you have to wait til after NML, You'll be able to get him cheap enough.
