One last thing....since I'm using Invisible Jet do you want a vehicle yourself and these can be outside the 1200 points. The Gotham cruiser is almost the same points as the Jet.
I've gone through a bunch of characters here. Plenty I had to pass on.
I wanted to mix DC & Marvel completely although the inspiration for playing heroines is the Birds of Prey figures coming out.
Since I'm using the Invisible Jet, Wonder Woman is a natural. Even without that she's the best lead for this kind of game. I'm drafting JL52003.
Birds of Prey...Huntress from the main set; Black Canary from the Fast Forces set and Oracle from the Fast Forces set also. Looking forward to playing them.
Catwoman makes it. There are several good versions out there now. I'm using the Batman 007 version.
The new Starfire seems a modified versions of the Icons figures, which was modified from Cosmic Justice. I will miss the better range and toughness but she's in.
My final DC chick is Dawnstar, a sort-of-oldie but goodie. Obviously a favorite but useful on many levels.
Over at Marvel it's hard to ignore females from the X-Men and Avengers.
From the Avengers I start with Scarlet Witch. I wanted to try the CW R version but since I've placed the burden of tk on Marvel characters I'm using the already getting overused E version. I'm also taking She-Hulk, my favorite version the LE from Hulk. Instead of taking Storm, I'm taking the Avengers/FF/Inhuman Crystal. She's a far better figure than she should be but I won't complain.
From the X-Men I'm trying the FF Rogue again. Kinda torn between her versions so I'll give this one a try again. I'm trying the LE Psylocke, which is an appropriate interpretation of a ninja-mind reader even if she pales next to the other GSX version, let alone the Armor Wars vet. Last X-Women; Emma Frost, the new version from the 10th anniversary.
Lastly I look to the Fantastic Four. So many good Invisible Women but I'll play with a less good version from Chaos War.
As I was looking at the figures that were out there that fit the theme, the strongest draw was to the sorceress types. You've used Morgan le Fay to good effect a couple games recently. I thought I'd try her out. Enchantress, Circe and Karnilla all went through my mind too. Even Umar. Eventually I settled for those three.
I wanted to do something from the new Batman set, and looked at Catwoman, but she just doesn't have the man-hating vibe to fit in here. Poison Ivy on the other hand does. There's a new Ivy and a new Harley Quinn in the Batman set. I'm not sure why I didn't go with them, except that the duo's a very appealing figure. And I'll get to play them individually in the Darkest Night games.
Ursa was another first thought, but scanning for her, I noticed Livewire and Silver Banshee, a couple of underplayed figures from the Superman set.
They're older figures, but somehow having an all women villain group just didn't seem right without both Cheetah and Giganta. I started to go with Fatality for TK, but last minute, switched her out for Lyssa Drak, who's a bit cheaper. And who has Perplex.
The DC side was filling up so quicky, I had to be careful to leave room for some Marvel. I had Morgan and Amora already, but that wasn't quite balance enough. Scanning recent sets, I picked Nebula out of Galactic Guardians. Her checkerboard dial makes her a little tricky to play, but she seemed to fit the theme well.
I looked at Thundra and Lyra from the Hulk set, but neither one was really a full-fledged villain, though both have straddled the line., and I didn't have too many points left anyway. Captain America had a couple nice options, but going back a touch further to GSX brought me Roulette, who filled the role of a nice, cheap PCer, which left me with just over 30 points. Scanning what was available at that point range, I had to go back a ways, found the old versions of figures like Viper and Madame Masque, who weren't all that hot, but then I saw Asp. I used to like that little figure quite a bit back in the day, so I'm wrapping up my draft with her.
