Who is Lennay Kekua? She is supposed to be Turkish. Some say her father was German. Nobody believed she was real. Nobody ever saw her or knew anybody that ever worked directly for her (except Manti Te'o), but to hear Manti Te'o tell it, anybody could have dated Lennay Kekua. You never knew. That was her power. The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, poof. Lennay Kekua is gone.

As of right now it's hard to believe that he didn't have anything to do with it because he has admitted he lied about meeting her. I don't think that automatically makes him guilty though. Maybe he really was duped and he just played up the relationship for the media. Maybe he was just afraid to admit he was having an online only relationship so he made up the lies that they met. It sounds like his friend was the one who pranked him or was helping him with it. Maybe his friend told him eventually and after that he decided to go along with it instead of tell the truth because maybe he thought it was too late. But teammates of his have said a lot of them didn't believe she was real and that he liked attention. He liked to watch himself on TV and when they talked about him on TV he would point it out to everyone. Stuff like that and his silence since all this broke leads me to believe he was probably in on this all along. What a dumb way to ruin your career before it even gets started.
