Hey all, hadn't picked up a comic in about 20 years but felt compelled to after hearing of WWH. Just had a few thoughts/questions:
-Why did the Illuminati decide to ship off Hulk? Was it one event in particular or just a build up over time? Stark seemed to consider Hulk such a huge threat, when did that happen?
-Was Banner in control of his "Hulk outs" at this point in his lore? He was the Hulk 24/7 in the storyline from what I read.
-How does Hulk breathe in space? I remember him not being able to when Cosmic Spidey knocked him into it a while ago.
-Where was Thor during WWH? Seems like someone who should have played a bigger role in trying to take down Hulk.
-Who the hell is this Sentry guy? And when did he and Hulk become friends?
-Was the Gamma Core only brought out for this story?
-What happens to Hulk/Bruce after this story?
-Reed and Stark kept trying to tell Hulk that they didn't plant a bomb in his ship, did someone else actually plant one or was it just a malfunction?
Overall, a great story and the most fun I've ever had reading comics. I personally thought the Planet Hulk storyline could have been developed a lot more as his marriage to Caiera felt a little rushed. I would have liked to see little Skaar actually grown a bit too to make Hulk's anger even more justified.
1. It shows up in Planet Hulk. I don't have my comics with me, but I think it was a build up over time.
2. Yes, when they land on Sakaar Banner lets Hulk have full control so that they can survive.
3. He didn't in Planet Hulk, I didn't read WWH
4. He was still 'dead' I believe, and it wouldn't have been a fair fight. Thor at that point had the full Odin Force plus the power of the Runes, that was letting him clobber pretty much anything and everything
5. Retconned in.
6. Don't know
7. Don't know
8. Yes, it's revealed somewhere in Planet Hulk who did it, but I cannot remember who right now. It was done to frame the Illuminati so that the Hulk would hate them.

He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
Not exactly true. It was part of the initial Sentry story by Jenkins and Lee that Hulk and Sentry had a rapport. If you look at that whole story as a retcon, then I could agree with you... but it's a weird needle they were threading with the Sentry to begin with.
There are so few good Sentry stories, that I feel compelled to defend them.

Well kind of, Sentry started as an April Fools joke not sure if the original series was properly part of that or not, then Bendis decided he liked the character and brought him back for New Avengers (not sure how that happened).

Yes, it's still a retcon. Sentry was retroactively retconned into the Marvel U.

Way I hear/understand it, the reason had something to do J. Michael Straczynski writing Thor at the time and part of him writing that series included Thor being exempt from the kind of meddling that would have been required for Thor to be involved in WWH.

-Reed and Stark kept trying to tell Hulk that they didn't plant a bomb in his ship, did someone else actually plant one or was it just a malfunction?
It was actually one of the Warbound, who sabotaged the ship because he wanted Hulk to be the 'world breaker' rather than the happily-ever-after king he was living as on Skaar.

It was a build up over time, and the Illuminati (except for Namor, who voted no, and Charles, who wasn't there) voted to ship him off to an idyllic world where Hulk could be alone. But they kinda oopsed on the autopilot.

Not that much, from what I understood. However, he was pretty much in full control (and in Hulk mode constantly) on Sakaar and afterwards... and Bruce was just as angry (if not angrier) at the Illuminati than Hulk was.

Well, there's probably a small atmosphere effect around the Stoneship itself, and the Blue Area of the Moon does have an Earth-like atmosphere there through old Kree tech, IIRC. Also, one can presume that Hulk can take a deep breath and hold it for a lot longer than a normal person.

Good question, would have been a lot better than...

Sentry was retconned into being everyone's BFF in the Marvel universe (or in the case of Rogue, BFF with benefits, ugh.) and really should never have come into the mainstream Marvel U in the first place.

-What happens to Hulk/Bruce after this story?
After shooting Hulk with red lasers to disable him, Stark hauls a depowered Banner to Gamma Base and stuffs him down there. And then the whole Red Hulk saga begins (which is really horrible at first, but apparently it was redeemed when writers not-named Loeb took over).

As previously stated, Miek did it to make the Hulk angry and Worldbreakerish. Presumably because getting busy with a Brood and being the last Bug King makes one a little nuts like that.

1. The recent event that occured in LA didn't excatly slow down the process of sending him there.
7. Banner was "cured" of the hulk. The son of hulk came to kill his father green scar (duh), for betraying his ppl, leaving them alone to be devoured by Galactus (which the Green Scar was unaware of at the time) but only finds Banner.
Being dissapopinted at not having a proper fight, Banner tells him that he needs to train alot before even standing a chance against the hulk, Skaar and Banner teams up on a few quest of Banners choice, mostly ruining H.A.M.M.E.R bases etc
After that, I dunno
Hope that was of value! :D
What are you planning of reading next?
