Yet another bad decision by HCO... Doc Ock arms object
So the Doc Ock arms special object is in random boosters of the ASM gravity feed figs. Instead of getting a fig, you might get the arms object. The kicker? It's apparently some sort of chase element... an absurd rarity. In the real world, you can pick one up for a couple of bucks on the secondary market. In HCO's alternate reality, it's going to cost you 10 times as much in their "secondary market".
Ugh.

Why a bad decision? Why does something online have to have the same rarity as the real world? War Machine is easy to get real world and tough to get online. I know I sure don't need 3 copies of the Doc Ock Arms when you can only use one ingame. Though doth complain too much.

Great, then I'll trade you a Cupid's Bow if you get second pair of Ock arms... you know, since rarity doesn't matter.
I didn't say rarity doesn't matter. I was just asking what the big deal is if it's different online than tabletop. Again, if I buy 10 boosters and get 2 Spideys, I may be able to use them both ingame, but it is illegal to use 2 Special Objects ingame. So getting 2 Doc Ock Arms does me no good. I understand why they made them harder to get.

Physical Ock Arms can be had for $3 on Amazon. Since you cited 'a couple bucks', I'll assume you think $3 is a reasonable price for the item.
Online, I doubt they go for more than a Super Rare. GM Yamah confirmed that the rarity is the same as Chose Loki in AVM Gravity Feed packs - rare, but not especially. I expect them to top out at about 50cb - or $2.50.
Even if we accept that a virtual item is worth less than a physical item -by half, let's say- you're paying $2.50 for something you seem to value at about $1.50.
As far as I can tell, you made a thread to complain about a dollar.
I think its really cool that they put the Doc OC arms in at all. Part of the attraction of both the real game and the online version is the chase for rare pieces. They are all artificially "rare" anyway. Its not like the hard to get real life clix are made of gold... the company just makes less of them so we will chase after them. And it works because people get a rush when they open one of the rare ones. I pumped my fist when I got the arms today. And then I laughed at myself. But it was fun. This is entertainment. As long as nobody is missing their rent payments because of their desire to feel the rush of opening up a doc oc arms virtual piece of cardboard, I don't see the harm. For me I'd rather spend $3-$5 on a virtual piece of cardboard that will bring me hours of entertainment than $10 on a ticket to a movie that might only bring me 2 hours of fun. Some people may think that is crazy, but to each their own. These are entertainment dollars. In my book there are different rules for those. They don't have to make sense and as long as you enjoy yourself (and don't hurt yourself or anyone else).
For me, I'm getting a huge bargain, considering the amount of fun I have playing HCO.

If that's the case then I'll be fine with it. But someone online stated that 70 ASM boosters had been opened and not one ock arms had shown up yet. That's quite a bit rarer than Loki (I was getting a Loki every 20-ish booster).
I've always hated rarity in HC. Its a "necessary evil" to perpetuate blind booster sales. But there's no reason for stupid-absurd rarity levels in an online product. Especially one with so few players.

Yes, between Arsenal, myself and one other person, at least 70 boosters were purchased. None of us got arms, but three others in that span of time did. Crimmy got it in the second pull, so it's just stupid luck.
