Has anyone else heard about this yet? Marvel just launched something called Unlimited. I know it's for iOS, unsure about pc/Mac/android. It's a subscription service for digital comics, and it looks to be unlimited.
Price is 9.99/month or 59.99/year, and I think you get access to everything. It sure looks that way at first.
Personally, I've just gotten into digital comics via comicology, but if this app works, I can see some real lost time in my future. If Marvel just dropped the Netflix of digital comics, I'm in.
Edit: looks like the catch is 6 months out for new releases. Still, that's an attractive back-catalogue.

This was originally "Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited," or "Marvel DCU." It's been around for a few years now, but they've made some big changes. The iOS app is one, with an Android app promised. The web site switched also switched from Flash to HTML5.
And yes, calling it the "NetFlix of digital comics" is an apt comparison. Their back catalogue is ENORMOUS!!! Yes, you'll have a wait if you want the newest stuff, but there's enough there to keep even the most voracious reader busy for a good long while.
Example: I never read Fear Itself or any of its tie-ins, but with the storyline event coming I figured I better read up in order to plan events. I just hit the Marvel DCU and was able to read it all.
It's actually pretty funny. I stopped buying Marvel books across the board when so many of them went to $3.99. Yet now Marvel's offering one of the best values in comics.
Looking at that yearly subscription rate, I don't recall it always being that low. That's a great move by Marvel, as it is equivalent to $5 a month, which is less than the price of two regular comic issues these days. Considering it's a subscription, meaning you can't directly download the material, that's a reasonable compromise for the price point. And considering they keep it up to six months out of the current titles, you're paying for a year's worth of Marvel comics to rent, essentially, along with the old backlog already in there.
I downloaded the app for my iphone, but it will take some consideration before I buy a yearly subscription. Maybe I'll do it as a birthday gift to myself.
Honestly, though, this sounds better by the minute.

The interface needs work (I'm using a 1st gen iPod) for both browsing and reading. Pinch to zoom doesn't work well, and on splash pages, it's a must to read.
Aside from that? Marvel's getting $60 from me next month for this. The back-catalogue is truly amazing. I've read Silent War, Thanos Imperative, and some Avengers that I always wanted to but never got around to.
