Hawkguy 9 I've only read two comics so far and as always when my man Hawkguy comes out, it's the first of the bunch. This books is amazing and I cannot express that enough. It's really cool to have Hawkeye in these low key adventures in the vein of Daredevil, Iron Fist, etc. I've been really digging the story and art and I believe that Fraction is doing some of the best work of his career on this book.
That said this issue boasts some particularly fantastic art with retro fashion, which I'm a huge fan of. The story takes sudden turn with a twist in the end that made me feel bad for all of the people like us in super heroic fiction. It was done in a much more evocative way than any of the event books I've read.
Age of Ultron 5 of (42) Stuff happened. It had people from other comics. The Vision was used in a way that no one thought possible? Really? REALLY? Batman on his worst day could have put that little math equation together, step up your game Avengers.
I don't understand Wolverine sometimes. He keeps trying to make progress with all of the killing and I know he can't help it. His mutant power is killing things. But to see this as his solution, and the execution laid out in his plans...ludicrous sir. Ah say, ah say, ludicrous.
Avengers 9 It feels like this book comes out every other week. Probably because it does. It's definitely refreshing to have Hickman on after the 100 year reign of Bendis. This and New Avengers are in my top 5 of my monthly purchases. In this issue we find more about the world shattering powers versus responsibility of Nerdlinger, I mean Starbrand. Plus Ex Nihilo returns and this book is so cool.
Thor, God of Thunder I've been enjoying the slow march. It feels like it is building to something and I find that I like this villain. I'm a really big Thor fan and I think Jason Aaron is taking this book into a direction that it hasn't been in. I will continue to see where it's headed waiting in anticipation.
Uncanny Avengers Thor versus Apocalypse and trying to put the comments on this page about it aside I look forward to reading this one.
I read last week's issue and then went online to look at the latest comic book news. There I was introduced into the controversy caused by Alex Summers' little speech. It didn't register until reading articles declaring how poorly conceived it was.
But consider that maybe Alex as a character has his own views of the mutant population and what it would take to grow as a species. I didn't feel like he was telling people in the real world to be ashamed of being proud in who they are. I think that in these stories, being a mutant doesn't always have to be a metaphor for nationality, race, or sexual orientation. I think sometimes it's just about being a mutant.
Uncanny X-Men 4 Speaking of mutants. This is a book where stuff will happen with mutants. Oh Bendis. You're lucky I'm 100% behind Cyclops.
Fantastic Four 6 I find that this book has just been...okay. It's not bad really and I will pick it up no matter the dips and dives because Reed Richards is my favourite Marvel superhero. I just keep getting nostalgic and reading older Fantastic Four stories to make up for it. FF, I find, is the stronger of the two series.
Saga 12 I sure hope there is no explicit sexual content in this month's issue of Saga. This book is amazing. I am so glad I'm finally on the initial bandwagon for one of these really cool creator owned original comics. After Y the Last Man and Ex Machine, there was no way I wasn't getting this. Fiona Staples is no slouch either, her art is phenomenal.
For those not aware. Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin (Daredevil) are putting out a story called Private Eye. It is really cool and is slated to be a 10 issue maxiseries. You can download it for any price (even no price at all) on their website, as it is only available in a digital format. http://panelsyndicate.com/.
Batman 19 Jim Gordon?! WTF?! Oh wait nevermind, I saw this cover like a month ago. Scott Snyder writes some decent Batman and I've been digging this art since the book's inception. Year Zero has me utterly beyond hesitant but I'll give it the old college try. Did Batman go to college? Or just kind of breeze through Tibetan medical, law, etc school?
Anyway enjoy your comics y'all! Even when you feel like they are trying their hardest to push you away.
Sometimes I replace myself with an animal painted green. Beast Boy; Teen Titans GO!
Anyone else get the Mega Man/Sonic crossover this week? I don't actually read either of the individual titles, but the idea of a legitimate, official crossover between two classic video game icons like this was too much for me to pass up on.

Won't get it until tomorrow. I'll post it on Saturday (at the very least)
So if you're actually reading the Mega Man title you know that a weird "Flash of Light" that changed some things happened a couple issues ago.
Starts out with Mega Man battling Sonic and both Dr.'s cheering on their destruction.
Wily and Eggman discover each other through the Chaos Gems, meet, then get along amazingly well but always fight over what to name things. They re-write reality to suit their needs to find the Chaos Gems. At the end they need hybrids to walk between dimensions (for some unknown reason) so Wily captures Knuckles, Rose, Shadow, and Tails and makes them Robot Masters! (Which is actually kind of cool)
And now it's the new Animal Robot Masters vs Proto-Man at the end of it.
