Used him on the Bridge map and he worked good. Mandatory to have him in water to gain PC. Useful with the Atlantis ATA as well. One of about half a dozen figures who can be assigned one or more ATA's (Society and Atlantis)

read the home page, new atlantis ATA just came out
*for future reference... "when you're in water terrain you get +1 def against ranged attacks" (2pts)*
Played a lot better than I thought he would (although granted, it was on a map with water). A full dial of Probability Control that can be tough to take out thanks to Mastermind can be a game decider, although using him is a big gamble because he loses 50% of his value on a map with no water, and he forces you to play strangely on a map with little water. Bring a bucket for backup, since you can at least chose where it gets placed.:cheeky:

I found him to be a little underwhelming when i looked at him, but having wanted to run SSoSV i was happy to see him. Then i got the chance to run him a few times. Wow, he actually worked fairly well. Yes He was in water terrain so that had a lot to do with it. Full dial prob was great. but better yet was his apparent non threat that he seems to have. i think he gets passed up by opponets especially if you field something overtly dangerous to them along side him. And that blades power may be a gamble but, when it hits the shock of it sure is nice. I used it alot more then i thought i would. He may not be fantastic but i think he's better then he looks and people should try him once in awhile.
I mocked and ridiculed him. Ocean Master? Ha! More like STUPID MASTER. But then.......I played him. Fantastic. Unoutwittable Probability control for the length of the dial is fantastic. Blades at range can be pretty good, even if there is a danger of damage (okay trade-off). For 65 points, he packs incredible value...if he can just stand in a puddle. but hey, that is what the hydrant / bucket of water is for.

Reason: stupid --> stupid master. Brilliant.
Only really useful if played with decent amounts of water terrain, but he's amazing for the points when you do. Traited prob is awesome. Mastermind to protect him. He also has solid attack values his whole dial for the points and his blades with ranged is really cool. 4 star figure only because of him being water reliant and thus not playable all the time.
Why is this guy inly three stars? His attack value never drops below a 9, he has mastermind to make him invincible and he can use blades claws fangs from up to sux squares away! Throw out the bucket of water and put submerged on him and now you have a stealthed probability control supporter that can deal a potential 6 damage from 3squares away. ALL that for 65 points? 5 stars....sure you need a bit of skill to pull this guy off....but I like figures that challenge players.
I hope the remake that is coming, has a little higher combat values for him to be a better challenge for Aquaman, who could also use a little bump, and that the remake of Ocean Master, has some kind of Invade the Surface Trait, that allows him to use other powers, such as PC, to make him tougher on Land as well, so he is not so restricted in use. He also needs a better sculpt, like the Attuma got in FI Attuma.
