He's a great character, but figures like Captain America, Nightcrawler, Talia, and Doctor Strange stomp Lex's tournament playability. He shines in big point games.
Really fun piece. I started collecting Lex Luthors recently. I admit that stealthbusting pieces like Dr. Strange make this a dangerous gamble in tournaments, but in a friendly game he's a lot of fun. I ran him with 2 researches to up his damage and provide mastermind fodder and he did quite well.
What makes Lex such a threat is that he's a flying wildcard! If he gets damage, no problem: Wildcard to Suicide Squad. Loses Stealth? Wildcard to Batman Ally. (Alfred, anyone?) If used correctly, Lex can be the most dangerous man on the board. He's definitely going on my Secret Six 800 point ATA theme team next weekend.

Don't know why people are saying that Stealth Busters will ruin this figs day, when I see a stealth-buster I simply push into his 18 SS defense at the beginning of the game, and make them beat that. He is a very dangerous man indeed.
I seem to be in the minority, as I don't think this is a good representation of Luthor. He's pricey for somebody with a glass jaw; after all, he doesn't start with Mastermind, and that 16D Super Senses isn't scaring anyone. Sure, you can push him to the second click and get a better defense, but then you lose Stealth and PB and take a point off his attack and damage! I'm afraid that my dream Luthor would be quite different...more like a 100-point double-Outwitter than this wannabe-heavyweight. And isn't it annoying that any decent Superman with RS or HSS could shred this Luthor in a single turn?

If lex is played correctly.....there should be no "super shredding" of any kind. Lex can outwit any superman's hypersonic speed (except a handful) or just penetrate him for three damage knocking supes off his best click. With the right support and team combo this lex could challenge a rookie-experienced superman piece.
Partly I was playing Devil's Advocate with this guy, because most of the reviews here are positive. But honestly, his opening 16D + Super Senses does concern me; I'd find Mastermind there both more accurate and more useful. Plus, his Stealth will not keep him safe from most Supermen. I still think he's not too well matched against his archenemy (assuming, of course, that Superman is also played well).
He's over ten years old now and shows his age a bit, but he's still overall a decent figure. I did consider getting rid of him when the SLOSH version came out, but that one didn't have the Secret Six keyword and this Lex does, so that saved his spot in my collection. Let's see... this Lex, with Nul's Hammer (the bacon of Heroclix- it makes anything you add it to BETTER) carrying Fiddler from the Flash set! That works okay doesn't it? The hammer gives him +2 attack, Willpower and RS. Fiddler Defends Lex, PCs him, and later provides MM fodder when/if things go south. It's kind of an expensive option at 245 points total, but if you want to play a big enough Secret Six team...
One thing is for sure; he was godlike, on that first click, back in the day. Flight/Stealth/Outwit/Psychic Blast/8 range was no joke. Wildcard Superman Ally and he becomes a nightmare. Pick up Batman Ally when he loses Stealth, to keep him protected. Suicide Squad works well with Mastermind. Superman Enemy for when he loses Outwit. It's really nice how he can cut through Impervious on every click. The mobility is excellent, and the end dial PW is terrifying. His damage values were pretty meager, but boy oh boy could this guy control the board. Excellent keywords and sculpt.
