I just played my second league game. Lost the first to Crimmy. He just outright beat me. He has a really good team. Then I played the current league champ Haymaker who had and obnoxious team albeit it legal in HCO league play. Four Guardians and a Ganthet. The league is setup with a Highlander rule but of course the Guardians are generics so you may play multiples of them. I commented that this was what I didn't like about the Highlander rule and why there is no Highlander rule in WizKids. That by having a Highlander rule that he had found a way to exploit around it with five outwits and duplicate figures. That's all I said and he took offense to it. I said GG as he knew how this would end. He said whatever and we played on not speaking anymore at all.

I outplayed him the whole game with a little help of the dice. He however had a slight 8 point lead with the timer almost to zero. His team was all beat up with one of the Guardians on its last few clicks. I had three figures beside it with no action tokens after passing. He had three figures with double action tokens. His turn. He does nothing. Just sits there as he cannot do anything. He cannot even outwit as all my figures can't be seen by his outwitters. So he sits there. Milks the clock. Well over five minutes as he had not burned any time earlier. This to prevent me from getting another turn.

Some of you may say this was good strategy. I will say this was poor game ethics and is why tabletop players are not flocking to play HCO. This and all the other problems that HCO has is why it is a dieing game. In tabletop, a Judge would have been called over and the Judge would have forced him to pass. Then I would have got my turn. Most likely I would have won but it could have went the other way as well. We will never know.

All I can say is kudos to you Haymaker for showing me just the kind of player you are. I know who you are in real life and see you quite often. I have even done a few favors for you. I have always thought you a good guy.

Yep, this is one of the (many) reasons I gave up on leagues. I've run into this and I HATE it. At least in real clix you can call a judge over to complain about stalling. In HCO, you're pretty well screwed.

It's poor sportsmanship, IMO. It's ranks right up there with rage-quitting.

Stalling is incredibly lame.

Then don't play him anymore and set him to your ignore list. There's plenty more of us who play HCO. Most folks who have played with me would agree that I rant on about the dice a bit much, but other than that I usually try to play a good game.....DAMN YOU DICE!!!
