You're correct that you automatically get the new V Gambit. You'd only have needed an upgrade for him if he had been a Unique/Prime/LE.

cool. what about the crimson gem? do i get to keep that as a team upgrade? or do i need to keep Black Tom as one of my 4 keepers to keep the Gem?
