SCORE: 80%. This "A" grade is assigned just for her first click. In fact, just for her first two powers. Sidestep + Poison means Magma can move 2 squares during the beginning of your turn and then use Poison, because you can use free actions and still be in "the beginning". And it's penetrating poison! Then you Quake them into a wall! I'm even considering dusting off my old Unique Warlock -- a New Mutant taxi with Plasticity and 17-Defend to carry Magma around and stand in front of her in a fun but expensive 150 point combo.

I know you can't sue multiple damage reducing effects, but what about damage ignoring effects? If so, Darkseid adds her to his Female Furies.
You can only use 1 damage reducing or ignoring effect, so if you had the ability to have Invincible and Invulnerable, you could only pick one of them to use. However, I am unsure with her special, its clear it works with toughness, so would her with Invincible by half (rounded up) +1 damage ignored? But only if it was penetrating?
She deals penetrating damage when using the Book of the Skull to quake as long as her power is showing right?
Yes, because it says when she uses one of the powers(being either Poison or Quake) It also allows her to use them. So equipping a hammer with her on this special would be quite the show.

No, because the rules prevent her from using the free Quake from the Book while her special is showing.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

How in the world do you figure that....her special says she can use poison and quake, and deals penetrating damage when using them. It does not say she only gets to penetrate when using the poison or quake provided by this power????????

From the player's guide: Game effects which grant the use or possession of another game effect have no effect if the recipient can already use the new effect.
While she has Quake on her dial she can't use Quake from the Book.

This is in the player's guide 1-1 under FREE ACTIONS: If a game effect allows you to perform a specific power or ability as a free action, then that effect is not considered to be the type of action which would normally be given. Since Magma does not have free action quake the Book would give it to her.

Sorry, but no. The rule you quoted says when the Book allows you to use Quake as a free action you didn't use a close combat action. The kind of action used to activate the effect isn't relevant: her dial gives her Quake so she can't use it from the Book.

Provide me with a pg# that you are referring to. I do not see it anywhere in the new rule book or powers card. I see the book allowing her to use quake as a free action, which she does not have the ability to do although her special power allows her to use quake.

Reason: small typo
You don't find it in the PAC or the rule book because, as I said, it's in the player's guide: page 5 of the most current version (June 2013). For the purpose of this rule there is no difference between Quake as a close combat action and Quake as a free action: they are both Quake. She can use Quake via Energized Form, so she cannot use Quake via the Book. I can see you don't want to take my word for it: feel free to ask about this in the Rules forum, or e-mail the rules team at WizKids.

Much like her teambase partner Sunspot, this is still the best HeroClix version of the character in the past six years. The dial is still respectable, if somewhat over-costed in the 2019 era, especially in light of certain PAC power changes. The dial is incredibly soft on defense which make is hard to pull off any of her (very good) tricks. After the mini-burst of New Mutants in the Xmen Regenesis OP kit and the XXS set, I find myself hoping for a remake of the character with a modern design and more appropriate cost.
