I was playing Nerkkod and a question came up while playing. So the second part of Force Blast says that "when this character hits with an attack, you may choose that it generates knock back if it doesn't already"
Normally Charge, Combat Reflexes, Giant size, Colossal, and Team bases ignore the knock back damage. (I'm probably missing a couple more, please list them so I can get a complete list)
Just wondering if using Pulse wave negates all of those anti-knock back abilities or just some of them when it ignores all game effects? Can you knock back multi-bases, colossal etc? Just the powers? None at all? A list of can and cant would be ideal
Right now for knock back I ruled
Charge-Takes
Combat Reflexes - Takes
Team Bases - Ignores
Colossal - Ignores
Giant size - Takes
well pulse wave ignores, not cancel or counter powers. so id say that if they had a power that ignores knockback that that power would still be in effect because the still possess the power while being pulse waved.
132-60 matches, 20 tourney wins (67-100) 2013
223-112 matches, 31 tourney wins 2012,Arcadia Grand prix runner up 2012,Arcadia Grand prix Runner up 2013
ROC West Coast Winner Co-Main Event 2013

But since all game effects possessed or used by the hit character is ignored they will have no effect during the pulsewave unless they, for whatever reason, can't be ignored.
However I don't think multibase characters will be knocked back as that is a rule and not a game effect possessed or used by the character.

This is correct.

Thanks a ton for your responses
Your pretty good on most of that but Giant size can be ignored by PW so if you have a giant or colossal that is a single base then they will still take the knock back. Most giants are single base but their are a few that are multi so they too will get to ignore knock back.
How is the rule that multibase figures cannot be knocked back not a game effect?
I was unaware that for two identical effects (not taking knockback) some of them are game-effects and others are not. This seems wholly unintuitive given that our definition for game effect does not state to only consider effects generated by powers/abilities, and not to include effects generated by game rules.
It is a game effect, but it is not a game effect used or possessed by the character, so PW will not ignore it.
Now just to mess with you and be the pain that I am, if this is a game effect, wouldn't it be ignored by the first lof drawn that ignores everything except walls, blocking terrain and elevated?

Yes, but it is ignored only for the lines of fire and has no bearing on knock back.

I really was just teasing but as usual your answer is great, thanks. There is so much timing to consider in this game that it makes my head spin. I feel fortunate to have such concerted, helpful members like you to help fill in so many blanks. Rep to you sir.
