By the way, my apologies once more for the delay in submitting my final entry. I wanted to make it a good one - and actually I had a first attempt at the story that I wound up scrapping. It was an adventure of the Wranglers of the Unknown. Their mission was to go back through time to the year 1851 and defuse a bomb that the terrorist organization called T.H.A.W.M.U.S. had implanted inside Moby Dick. Ahab's harpoon was going to set off the bomb and destroy an undersea city, starting a war between many nations both on the surface and beneath the waves. I assigned characters to all of us, using fictional names - then realized that I would not be able to keep the story at the 600-700 word limit that I had imposed upon myself. As it was, the second attempt came in at 714 words, but it was more faithful to the theme that was provided.
As you can see, I tried re-using characters and names based on our group in the final version. Alas, I was not able to fit in Norym and Wintremute - or myself for that matter. I hope none took offense at this, as even Grand Admiral Norr-Tonn was a true hero to his own people of Lemuria and the AAV Jawa-Spayess went down fighting bravely in the Battle of R'lyeh. (In consolation, I offer that Captain Saynt-Dumah's first mate was the formidable Mister Ym-Norr and that Wintra-Moot was Fishma-Zell's plucky best friend, as well as the ship's cook. They were among the handful of survivors.)
I hope you had as much reading as I did writing it.
And that, finally, is all that I have to say about that.
Peace out.
